I went to Kaplan college to get some information about Kaplan University ONLINE I was assigned   a " counselor" Salesman Susan Patrick,  who asked me a few questions and lied to me about 80% of the information she gave me. She had me meet with the head of the computer department who also lied to me! When I asked how many lessons were hands on I was told about 50 % which was more like 10%. I was told that they had a job placement program and when I asked what was their job getting rate I was told 85%. Well no one in my class got a job thru Kaplan 2 years.
When I asked my counselor what I could expect when I graduate, and I was told I could open my own computer repair shop! Well after graduating with a certificate as a " Certified Computer Technician"
What a joke!
When I asked how many credits were transferable to the local community college I was told about 90%. When I signed up to continue my education I found out that none of my credits were transferable!!
I was lied to all along the way! No job, no credits and now I have 10,000 dollars in student loans!!
There needs to be a class action suit against these crooks!!!

Not sure why you would respond to the other person like you have. But let me tell you, this college is by far one of the worst onine colleges ever. The credits do not transfer, you can not get a job once you are finished with Kaplan, the degrees are toilet paper and that is all they are worth.

I have been abuised by Kaplans Fin Aid department, have not received my money and am currently in the process of finding a attorney who can sue this college for every penny they have.

So yeah: if you think this college is any good, you are saddly mistaken.

I had a completely different experience.  The Admissions counselor that I talked to did not lie to me one bit.  Credits are transferrable, but it depends on which schools.  YOU SHOULD HAVE RESEARCHED WHICH SCHOOLS WOULD TAKE YOUR CREDITS PRIOR TO ENROLLING!

I am actually amazed that you went for Certificate program!  That is why you don't have a job.  Certificate's mean basically nothing except that you are lazy and don't even have enough drive to complete a simple AA.  If you truly have $10k in student loans for a Certificate, you should probably take 9th grade math and go from there.  Also, the teachers teach their way, so some are more hands on and some are less.  It maybe that you showed signs of incompetency and they kept you away from the equipment.

From your rant I am able to tell a few things.

  • You didn't spend any time looking into the school

  • You didn't spend any time looking into the Cost vs Certificate reward

  • You took the lazy way out by only going for a Certificate (means nothing)

  • You blame everyone else for your problems

  • You would be a horrible employee, and THAT'S why you can't get a job
