Kaplan University (Davenport, Iowa) So Called "SCAM" or "Fraud" Internet, Iowa

OK. there are some rumors concerning Kaplan University Online College, wether it be based on the Financial Aid, Accredited, or Instruction Portion. i am a newly enrolled student at Kaplan, and i'm filing a report HERE because HERE is where most of the so called SCAMS and FRAUD reports are being made. therefore, i am registering an account and filing a report to squash the rumors and to clear things up. keep in mind, i do not represent Kaplan University College as a Staff Member, meaning i do not work for them. i am just a student.

Alright, so let's begin with the most accused portion of Kaplan University. Financial Aid. you know, i'm very particulate when it comes to money. i don't have much of it, so when i have to apply for a loan, i like to make sure it's not much. there are people here on the internet that either attend, or used to attend and, misrepresenting Kaplan University by stating that they do not give out degrees to students unless they pay off their Financial Aid Loans. this is 100% NOT TRUE. the only way Kaplan University does not hand out IN-HAND your degree is if you have an OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE to Kaplan University. if you owe Kaplan University any out of pocket expense, they will not give you your degree until it's paid off. on the other hand, if you owe Financial Aid Loans to lets say, DirectLoan, like i do, that's a different story. that doesn't mean that you won't get your degree. if that was the case, people who graduate from Kaplan University wouldn't receive their degrees for 10 years or until they paid off all of their loans. this is a total misrepresentation of what they stand for. whoever keeps reporting this, you should not only be ashamed of yourself for falsifying information such as this, but you should also read the fine print. shame, shame.

Now let us move on to the next abused assumption of Kaplan University. Accredited Classes. Let's take Criminal Justice for example. i'm reading reports of people saying that Kaplan University is not accredited by the ABA. listen, for those of you who want to be a lawyer, paralegal, whatever. unfortunately, for you, it has to be learned in a classroom. not one single class involving being accredited by the ABA is done online. does this mean that you can't pursue your Criminal Justice degree? of course not, you can still pursue your Criminal Justice degree for such things as the Law Enforcement field. again, this is just one example. just because the class is not accredited by ABA, does not mean that the degree means nothing. if you want to be a lawyer, you need to go to class for it.

As far as the instructors, i have not encountered any of them. however, i've had instructors via The United States Army, Job Corps, High School.. everywhere you go there's going to be atleast one instructor you don't agree or get along with. that doesn't mean that Kaplan University is a bad school.

i think that most of the problems that people have with Kaplan University is all heresay.

Just wait until your  last term is almost finished and they "decide" you have reached your Financial loan limit and charge you thousands of dollars that you know you don't owe.  Yea, just wait, because it will happen.  It's not a rumor, it's a known fact.  Not everyone on this website is wrong.

my point still stands, whoever you are. if you have a problem with they're credentials, you should have done the research on it like i have. for those of you who didn't, it's your loss. just because you can't transfer your credits to another school, doesn't mean that you can get a job with the degree that you receive.

oh, and for the record, my Windows Ultimate Edition IS indeed genuine. if you seem to understand google so well Mr. Google Man, try giving "Windows Update KB971033 Problem" a moment of your simple life and notice that millions of users around the world are going through the same thing. that's why i always have a backup. (Linux Ubuntu)

oh, and nice touch with the "Ex-Employee" status. i'm SO sure you used to work for them. loser.

Rumors, you say? You are a new student. You get walked through everything at Kaplan with golden gloves when you are new. Wait until you are in your second or third term, when they place you with the Financial Aide and Academic Advising departments of the people who are way overbooked and dont care about the people who are assigned to them.

Its a known fact. There not accredited for everything that they offer. Look at the PsyD programs (for those who dont know, PsyD is Psychology). Take a look at every other decent school that offers PsyD programs. There accredited by the APA (Again, for those who dont know, APA is American Psychological Association). They DO accreditation of schools. Kaplan is NO WHERE on there list of schools of accepted PsyD programs, or on their pending accreditation list.

Your comments about ABA classes not being taught online? You dont seem to understand what Google is. There are quite a few online law programs that are taught by the major law schools online.

And everyone who is taking the original posters comments to heart, take a close look at the lower right corner of the "chat" that is posted (Not the chat window itself, but the full desktop picture) . It says " This copy of Windows is not genuine". So were supposed to take the words of this "student" (about a school who knowingly has employees post on here as students) when this "student" cant even use a legal version of Windows, a violation of the Kaplan Student Ethics policy that every student agrees to when starting classes.
