Kaplan University an avenue for privatized jail. When an application comes in from a potential student his or her social security number is used for criminal investigation to form police sweeps in specified areas. The majority of the so called employees their work with some form of law enforcement. Is that legal? I dont know. Is that nice absolutely not.

You didn't give many details, but it is illegal for an educational institution to release your SSN under most instances. You are covered under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA; http://www.ed.gov/policy/gen/guid/fpco/ferpa/index.html). Unless the police had a subpoena, or there was imminent danger to someone, they were probably wrong. Check with a lawyer.
