After 20 years of struggling I decided the time was right to return to school. Previously I attended a Beauty School that closed down and unfortunately was caught up in a Fraud Scam. I made it through and finally got a license to do hair. Now that I can't do hair anymore ,because of medical problems I went on-line to find a school that I could attend at home. I spoke with several schools but decided on Kaplan for some reason or another.

The first thing that I told Mr. Jeffrey Talani was that: while applying for another school, I was told that I may have a outstanding student loan. He assured me that he could check that out with no time at all. He called me back and assured me that we could continue on with the enrollment process, because I had no outstanding student debt at all. Next day he calls,as he did every morning at 10am . We went through the process and everything is fine. Next day he says that the school financial aid department wants me to send in 75.00 dollars of "good faith money". I ask a lot of questions and was reassured that if anything went wrong the money would be credited back to my friends account. I had to borrow the money, and sent them 70.00 dollars because this was all my friend had.

A week before school is to start I get a call saying that my financial aid application has been Denied do to an "OUTSTANDING STUDENT LOAN" the same loan that I told them about from day one when they promised me if I had a debt it would definitely show up on there computer. I was BLOCKED OUT of all classes, and told that I need to contact every TOM,d**k,and Harry in the school to get a refund. The 10am phone calls stopped and I have yet to here from anyone. This 70.00 was not a deposit financial aid was supposed to pay for the entire course.

To get your money back

The best way to get your money back is by contacting student accounts . Another way you can expedite this is by contqcting your glorious admission advisors and tell them you need to speak with the admissions manager to process your deposit refund. The admissions manager is the one that needs to send the cancellation notice to student accounts so you can recieve your deposit back.

I hope that you cancelled 7 days before classes started because otherwise, you can kiss your money goodbye. Read the fine print in your enrollment agreement
