I was charged total 2700.00 and did not attend Kaplan for more than a week.  I paid the school 295.00 down payment.  This crarge was submitted to the Attorney General's Office along with the forms.  I have paif them monthey payments as I have a severe Disability and wanted to stop the harassment from Pinnacle Financial group.  They say now that I ned to prove I cannot get a loan and they MAY gualify for financial hardship.

I also sent a bill to President Barack Obama but have since moved and may have mot gotten a response from him.  Phone harassment is now from NY, PA and Minnesota.  The West Va. Attorney General's Office has the papers on Kaplan University.

Pinnacle has not sent me all receipts for my payments.  Do I need to get proof of denial for credit cards or other type of loan in order to MAYBE qualify for financial hardship?  I don't recall ever signing anything and live on SSDI only and get HUD assistance and food stamps.

Annie, you should learn the law regarding discrimination

Actually just saying the word "cripple" is NOt "discrimination".

Learn the law. Name calling is not discrimination. Something is not discrimination just because you don't like it.

Discrimination is an act that someone engages in. Someone must engage in a discriminatory act to be considered discrimination under the law.

For example, if someone said they would not hire you because you are a cripple, that MAY be discrimination under the law. Maybe. You see, depending on the size of the business, they may not have to provide accomodation to you for your disability. They could legally just refuse to hire you.

Now, if that same employer encountered a black applicant for the job, and said I'm not going to hire you because your black. THAT would be discrimination.

Got it?

It isnt discrimination, as I am not preventing you from any opportunities of which you are interested and qualified.  It is a politically incorrect label.  You probably should look into you being discriminated in order to get you to sign up for classes knowing you would drop the ball and be on the hook for a few thousand dollars.

Do you seem to think that the President of the United States is going to pay your bill?  Why would you even waste the thought, let alone the postage on a concept such as this.  Kaplan may have ripped you off, but from my experience with any institute for higher learning, either private or public, there is a proper procedure for dropping classes and minimizing your responsibility.  In most cases as well, the time frame to change your mind is 3 days.  Not a week.  If the policy is less than one week, then you violated the agreement and are required to pay.

I actually believe you that you are on welfare and every public handout that you can get.  I wouldnt worry about credit cards and getting other stuff if your disability is so severe as you say.  Isnt it enough that the government feeds you and pays for your housing, and gives you a nice check every month?  What do you think having any kind of college degree will have on your life?  And in all states, community colleges and state schools get all kinds of grants and federal assistance to educate handicapped individuals.  I bet if you looked into it, you probably can go to a nice school, get a better education and have little or no debt to speak of because you are a cripple.  Look into it, after all it is another handout.
