I reviewed the website and was intrigued by the convenience of working on degree at home; boy did I get a rude awakening. I was refusing to enroll due to the fact that the tuition was more that I could pay for at this time in my life.

Once, I was contacted by the Enrollment Advisor, I was told that theres hope and that to trust him and he would find a way I could enroll. Well after several calls and email transferring hands, he told me that he could offer me a scholarship and that Kaplan would be paying me to go to school. I started crying with excitement, because my dreams had come true that someone was helping me to better my life.

I enrolled in school in April of 2007 and soon after the first of the month of May I found out that the scholarship never did exist, and then I started receiving bills in the mail and harassing phone calls at my home from over 8 different people in financial aid. They stated that they didn't understand what was going on so they opened an investigation to see why he would tell me that I would get a scholarship, when indeed, there are no scholarships awarded. I even had a financial aid advisor that witnessed the conversation that he was telling me that I would get a scholarship to pay for it and even then they didn't believe me.

But, I received a copy of the scholarship the night that I signed the enrollment over the internet and when the enrollment advisor also spoke to my husband over the phone with the assumption that he was going to follow through, I signed the fasfa, and financial aid papers. I soon found out that only thing I did was trust someone that works at a college and deceives people into enrolling into college.

I then contacted the Better Business Bureau and they can't do anything for me, but at least they tried. I have recently contacted the Attorney General's Office and I am hoping that they can do something about this college in hopes that this won't happen to no one else. This has cost me my daughter's college and my savings, and now my job. Because the stress of this matter, I was fired from my job and having a really hard time getting another one.

I hope that with all of the complaints we have made it will help people that are looking for the same thing in an online college to beware of Kaplan University.

STOP ATTENDING ALL THESE JUNK ON LINE SCHOOLS AND YOUR PROBLEMS WILL BE SOLVED
All brick & morter colleges and community colleges offer on line classes now at reasonable state tuition rates. If everyone would just stop this Bull$#*& of attending these rip off places of higher education, you would not be getting yourselves in a financial bind, or having these rip off companies trying to ruin your credit. Then UOP, AXIA, STRAYER, CAPELLA, and who ever else Jon Doe for profit schools will close up shop and be gone for good!

These on line schools are a 100% rip off. I have taken a few on line classes through one of my local community college's and I am satisfied to know that its 100% accredited and transferable to any 4 year university, no questions asked.

Please everyone, stop giving yourself a heartache
