Clever Boy Kareem Eugene AKA Eugene Thompson, Matt Thompson, AND Boban Gavrovski (which is who his websites are registered to) thinks he's getting away with scamming models.

I'm not that young, nor am I experienced in professional modeling. Never did I think i'd one day be victim of a scammer.

He assured me experience was not neccessary, just a great attitude and non-flakiness. Kareem, King of Flakes should know better. He said he found me on modelmayhem.com and that he wanted me to be a part of his calendar. He said he'd want me to fly in for 2 days and wanted to negotiate a fee. We spoke a bit about what he did and what he hoped to do in those 2 days. He said he'd pay me for my time and also pay the flight, hotel, and food. He said he didn't like to pay for everything upfront to avoid being stood up and that he only asked that I pay for 1/2 of the flight so that I wouldn't flake out on him and stand him up. He said once I arrived I'd be reimbursed. $125 didn't seem like alot and I asked a model friend of mine who travels for shoots all the time and said she's paid for 100% of the flight before and was reimbursed later. I checked out his myspace and he seemed to have plenty of professional photography although some pretty horrible taste in clothing. Should have known better about a guy who calls any woman's clothing line "hoochie gear".

I sent designer boy $125 ($137 including fees) via Western Union despite the fact that my gut was screaming no no no. He gave me his address (made up address) in case they needed it but I just gave them the name Kareem Eugene and Toronto, Canada. I tried googling him before i sent him but couldn't find anything negative since his NAME wasn't REAL!

I called him up and gave him the MTCN number and he couldn't stop telling me how Rad I was. Yes I'm rad, easy money for him and I fell for it. He said he'd called me later that evening with flight details. Didn't happen. Over the next few days I didn't hear back, he called or I called and all he could say was that he was really busy with photoshoots. Deep down inside I knew it was all bull. I finally asked a Techie friend of mine to find out who he was. Indeed my gut was right all along. He found at least 3 ripoffreports and started investigating him.

I've started reporting him to everyone I can think of, I'm not letting him get away with this and neither should any of you. Don't feel stupid or ashamed. Get even!

The Writing is on the Wall

Seriously Kareem? You're going to try and play the victim here? If you are so honest and professional...why do you change your company name like someone changes their socks? If anyone googles your various aliases, the writing is on the wall. There are hundreds of models, photographers, etc. that are all saying the same thing...you ripped them off. Honestly it pains me to see so many victims that trusted you and were cheated. I know who you used to be...and can't comprehend what you have become! Our lives went in separate directions many years ago and still can't believe that we were once considered very close. A man that was so determined to make something of his design career...you have really blown that! Proof in point all the people that you have scammed...and calling it a witch hunt. I just hope that the persons that you have wronged prevent you from doing it to others by getting the word out.

Kareem Hurst...you're not the man I once knew. One day our paths may cross again and be assured I will let you know how disappointed all this makes me to have once believed in you.

Kareem you P.O.S.

HOW DARE YOU respond to this rebuttal claiming it's not true. Where are my $125 that I sent you ?? You stopped calling or taking my calls as soon as I sent it. Isn't that a scam?? Why is my MM inbox and comment box FULL of messages by girls scammed by you????

You don't work hard!!! You make money by fooling us women thinking we're getting a gig, getting clothing, etc.

YOU ARE A JOKE! YOU ARE A PARASITE!!

I invite anyone who doesn't believe me to check my MM#1394595 and see for yourselves all the comments left by girls scammed by this worthless human being.

This is no witch hunt, you're pathetic. No one will have sympathy for you. And if someone does, then I demand that they pay me and all the girls who've been scammed by you, the money we're owed.

In the meantime, I will continue spreading the word about you until you are behind bars!!!

NOT A SCAMMER AT ALL!!!

NOT A SCAMMER AT ALL!!

First let it be known I WORK hard at the designs and the Photography I do create. I have several years of experience in creating a variety of genres of clothing to even costumes for musical events, charities and choreographed dance performances.

I have the Clothing Designs and the Photos to back up the comment I just stated in the above comment. I also have the references of a variety of people that can vouch for my work ethics.

Before I head into the cases of the individuals above who have called me a "SCAM" let it be known that I find it very COWARD like to attack and or try to "RUIN" a person, by going onto a web site such as this instead of contacting the person direct, whom the issue may reside with.

In the case of LILY BEE, the model whom claims that she was WRONGED by me, the issue was simply that of communication as I had stated to her, in several points of our conversation, the last time we spoke.

There was NO finances that changed hands, in fact there was NO written agreement as to what were to happen if she didn't show up. That had concerned me. When I stated this to her she didn't comment back to me at all on the subject.

I still have the EXACT email that she had sent to me stating, she would not show up. This was after we had spoken on the phone and I had made known my concerns. It is also HUMOROUS that she NEGLECTED to state that I had called her TWICE that same day, we last spoke, to see if it were possible to have the shoot with her, even though it felt like communication-dirtectly, were lacking.

I find that email has great purposes in the beginning of business conversations BUT really one can not beat a simple PHONE CALL.

The term "WITCH HUNT" comes to mind here. If one doesn't their way, then they try to use anyone and other possible instances for their fire power, to support their "supposed" acts of neglect towards them.

When trying to work out details with one Lily Beee she failed to even want to discuss the facts and had simply decided NOT to talk on the phone and or email.

My reasoning for not working with her was simply this; she didn't get back to me as I had stated. If I were to be the Client, doing the Photography of her, the responsibility lies with her to call and reach me no matter what. If that isn't good enough for her, well as the old saying goes, "Ca la vie"

Kareem Eugene- Kingdom PS

#5UPDATE EX-employee responds

Wed, September 29, 2010

I am writing to add my experience.

This person, going by Kareem Eugene & the business name of Kingdom PS contacted me via Model Mayhem (a professional networking site for the modeling industry) to hire me for a fashion shoot.

We then began communicating via personal email. Then via phone. Shortly after this, he removed his information from Model Mayhem & "friended" me on Facebook (social networking site).

He promised me travel & accomodations along with payment (at my rate) for the modeling job itself. He said he was making designs just for me. He told me that he wanted to pay for airfare & asked me to make a deposit to assure him that I would follow through on our agreement.

I informed him that I would not pay a deposit on a job I was being hired to do. I also told him that I intended to drive & pick up other work along the way. He agreed to pay me $200 in travel expenses. I proceeded to book gigs for myself along my drive route based on the fact of having my travel expenses covered. I cannot miss that much work unless it is financially feasible & our agreement made it so.

He also agreed to pay for lodging to the tune of $60 & pay me $300 for the job.

He asked me to meet him in Windsor, On to do the shoot & then asked me if he could ride to Toronto, On with me & split the gas cost. I agreed to this as well, as I have friends I wanted to visit while in Ontario.

All of this was agreed upon before I began planning my trip. We spoke three time over the phone to confirm this fact. He was provided with my website & several references to assure my professionalism. He also told me that he would start sending me small chunks of money ahead of time so as to have me partially paid by the time I arrived. He was given my legal name and address in order to do so.

These agreements were made in August of 2010. Toward the end of August I began to feel wary of these agreements as I had not received a contract, model release or payment of any kind. I sent him a detailed email on 9/18/2010 with the bullet points of our agreement, along with a request for his legal name & address so that I could give them to the border patrol.

He then told me that he would call me & asked me to call him. He never called me. I told him I would try to give him a call, but that I was very busy & that email worked better for me. I wanted to get it all in writing. He did not call or email me back (despite me attempting to contact him via social networking sites & email) until 9/28/2010 at which point he informed me that it was raining in Windsor & wouldn't shoot with me if it was raining. He also told me that if I didn't call him by 5:30pm he was going to call the shoot off.

I have been planning to leave today (9/29/2010) to begin this tour. Our shoot date was set for 10/05/2010.

I did call him over my lunch break. He didn't answer. The machine gave a woman's name and the name of "Edward". I called a second time & left a message. I emailed him additionally, to inform him that I called him & that he had hired me for a job & needed to pay me a deposit if he intended to cancel. I never would have taken on the expense of driving around the Great Lakes & up into Windsor, On if I had not been promised the compensation he promised me. I am currently locked into the other gigs I booked along the way & cannot compromise my reputation by canceling.

He then told me that he didn't want to be responsible if I got in trouble for coming into Canada to work for him without a work visa. He also informed me that he had scheduled another model to shoot with him on the same day he had contracted me to work. He said that he would have to call the other model & ask her to reschedule.

While I was waiting to hear back from him, I decided that it was not worth the hassle I was deailng with. I sent him another bulleted email outlining my decision to rescind the job with the reasons (listed above).

He did not respond to this email. He then blocked me from our mutual social networking group. This morning I received an insulting email from him.

He is NOT a professional. I have not paid him a deposit, but I did base my decisions upon our agreement (virtual handshake) & am out $560 as a result.
