Karen Slaughter of Omaha Nebraska is pretending to sell an RV listed on Craigslist.  Once you contact her about the RV, she sends you to what looks like eBay, but it isn't.  She says that eBay will get in touch with you.  I received an email from what looked exactly like an eBay email, every detail was thought of to make it look exactly like a legitimate eBay email.  THere was a PDF attachment that explained the asking price, the "deposit" required, and what the full price of the RV was.  THen it expalined in very what appeared to be security conscious langugage what needed to be done to make the deposit payment, which was done through wire transfer.   What I discovered later is that eBay never asks for wire transfers.  All eBay payments are done through PayPal.   I wire transfered $8,200 to a bank in FL, which was instructions I recieved over the phone from someone that I thought was at eBay.

Yesterday I got an email from Karen Slaughter saying that I had not paid the full amount and that I needed to do that or she was going to stop delivery of the RV.   I emailed her back explaining what I thought was eBay's process but of course it wasn't so I never heard from her again.

I called another number at eBay that I got off their website this morning which is when I discovered that I had been scammed.

Karen Slaughter also tried the same "Ebay Protected Buyer's" scam with me on a 08' Cadillac that was listed on Craigslist (Florida) on 05/16/16. I received her phony $7100.00  invoice and when I called the number on the invoice to confirm this was Ebay and that I wasn't being scammed, the represenative couldn't provide me with any proper answers when questioned..then they hung up on me. Buyers beware! I contacted and reported this directly with Ebay also..whom I have a long, good history with.
