It seems like the old bait and switch scam is alive and well with Larry Miller and his good old basketball players. Here's my story about an experience I had about a year ago with the Karl Malone dealership in Sandy, Utah,

I responded to an ad in the Saturday morning Provo/Orem Daily Herald about $100 cars that were for sale at the Karl Malone Toyota dealership in Sandy, Utah. That morning I drove to the dealership with my nephew to see the $100 cars. When we asked a salesman about the cars he said they were all sold out. My nephew complained and demanded to see the manager. The salesman came back and said that one car was available. He took us on a long walk to the back of the dealership where there was an old, dust covered, beat-up green car about 10 years old (don't remember the make). The salesman commented to us that we surely didn't want to buy the car --no one in their right mind would want to buy it. My nephew checked over the car and determined with a paint job it would be a great buy.

He informed the saleperson that he wanted to buy the car. Again, the salesperson said he had to talk to his manager. After about 10 minutes, the salesperson came back and said that in the intervening time since we looked at the car and made an offer that the car had been sold! He then attempted to get us into a new car. Disgusted with this blatent attempt to rip us off, we left and vowed never to buy a car from a Larry Miller dealership.

Rebuttal:

Mr customer, If you want a car for a 100 dollars call me and will find one for you. Do not be a sore looser, that is not bait and switch, when the cars are gone wait for another day. We have 40 sales professionals to assist customers and it is hard to know what is sold until you go and ask the sales desk.

HAVE A GOOD DAY.
