These crooks are in bed with auto dealers - the dealer salespeople make is sound that they install power locks, and everything else that a remote security system needs even though in fact many - and definitely my - vehicles come eqiupped with all that from the factory. They only add a starter disabling feature which duplicates standard device that comes from the factory and glass breakage sensor. For most vehicles, remotes come standard from the factory.
A system comparable to what they sell for $500 is worth about $30, and for about $200 you can get a security powerhouse with remote starter, 2-way communcation, automatic temperature control, etc.
My truck was towed, and the stinky thing never went off because they don't even install a basic shock sensor! My spare tire was stolen, and still no alarm was activated - that's when I started doing research, and figured the scam out.

Hi! The finance guy at my Honda dealer I feel swindled me into getting the Karr Alarm. On the same day I bought the car I went home and did research and found tons of bad press on the Karr alarm. I was NEVER told by anyone in the dealership that my car had included the factory security system and immobilizer. I have not yet had the Karr Alarm installed and went in today to see the finance guy to get a refund. He said that parts have been ordered and that the alarm is non-refundable no matter what. Asked to speak to his manager, he said the manager is the owner of the dealership and he's never there! I was just wondering how you were able to get a refund. Any tips would be greatly appreciated as I have not yet had it installed and want to do everything I can to get a refund.

Raised hell with the selling dealer, and got a full refund. I suggest you do the same!
