Kate Finish Using "Amazon Protection Program" as a device to lure sale of used goods on the Internet City Name Does Not Appear Internet
This is a scam used on craigslist sites where the seller posts an item for sale at a drastically reduced price and when contacted suggests the use of Amazon Payments Protection Program to complete the transaction. In my case it was the sale of a Ranger Polaris, a 4X4 utility vehicle.
To play on your sympathy, the seller claims the low price is the result of her desire to rid herself of a vehicle that belonged to a son who was recently killed by a drunk driver. The vehicle is purportedly in a warehouse and will be shipped at seller's cost following completion of the transaction.
