We retained the services of Katz Web Design August of 2008.

We requested 2 things when asking for our website design; 1. no pictures of people

2. design layout similar to a rick owen website.  After sending Zack Katz a check for $3100, he sent us 3 web designs that a. had pictures of people and b. was a template design.  He claimed to have spent 9.5 hours putting together a proposal and 3 of the same template designs, just with different pictures.

Realizing that he was incapable of fulfilling any client requests, we told him we no longer needed his services.  We asked for a refund within 2 weeks of retaining his services.  He offered us a store credit first and then offered us $700 refund.

After letting him know we would be retaining legal counsel, he offered us $1,980 and kept $1,120.  He claimed to have spent 9.5 hours, but was unable to break-down said such hours.  He charged us $120 an hour for work that market cost would be $12-$50 an hour.  The work he did would be closer to 3 hours.  I offered to pay him $500, which would be more than adequate for time spent.  He ended up keeping $1,120.  Also, our proposal, which was confidential, ended up on the world wide web. After complaining, he took it down, however we estimate that it was up for about 3 weeks and could have had negative repercussions.

If anybody has any complaints about this business, please contact me as I would be interested in putting together a class-action lawsuit.
