On Monday, April 13, 2004, we purchased a dress which they had previously sold to another classmate after they verbally guaranteed that they would inform anyone from the same school that some one else had purchased the dress. Obviously they did not because we ended up with the exact dress as one of our friends. Upon discovery, they refused to exchange one of the dresses for another. We were not asking for a refund or credit, simply for an exchange. To date we have been unable to reach anyone who would assist with this problem.

Their customer service consists of an answering machine which is nerver checked and you never get a call back. No one is held responsible for their actions and so issues are left unresolved. I then attempted to reach them via e-mail, promptly received an response, without a name, who promised to look into it, requested receipt numbers, and have not heard from them since. They do not answer any of my e-mails now, and have polietly ignored any other requests for information concering this problem.

I have contacted the "Better Business Bureau", and the "Attorney General's Office" and will continue to follow through on this issue. Someone must be held accountable for these unethical business practices, so that other consumer's are safeguarded. Perhaps if others are made aware of these practices, they will not shop there and this company may be forced to adjust their business practices. Hurt them where it hurts, in their pockets, just like they do to inocent consumers.

I will never shop there again and will inform everyone I know about "Kaufman's Weddings World" customer service practices. Take the money and run is their motto.

REGARDING THE RETURN OR EXCHANGE OF THE GOWN

#2UPDATE Employee

Tue, May 04, 2004

DEAR READERS;
I WORK FOR KAUFMAN'S WEDDING WORLD. I PERSONALLY SPOKE WITH THE CONSUMER 'NANCY' WHO STARTED THIS CASE. THE INFORMATION THAT I GAVE THE CONSUMER WAS THAT THE STORE DOES NOT "REGISTER" GOWN FOR THE PROM, AND THAT PERHAPS SHE MISUNDERSTOOD. NONE OF OUR STORES 'REGISTER' GOWNS FOR THE PROM. IT IS NOT A PROGRAM THAT WE CHOOSE TO USE IN ANY OF OUR LOCATION. I INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT WE PURCHASE "LINES OF GOWNS" FROM VENDORS, MEANING WE PURCHASE ALL, OR SOME OF THE ENTIRE LINE OF GOWNS THAT A PARTICULAR VENDOR OFFERS FOR THE PROM SEASON.

AS FOR OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE, NANCY FAILED TO INFORM YOU THAT SHE HAD A CONVERSATION WITH ME AND I TOLD HER THAT AS HER SALES RECEIPT/SALES CONTRACT STATES, ALL SALES ARE FINAL, NO REFUNDS, RETURNS, EXCHANGES OR CREDITS.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT IT IS NOT UNETHICAL TO NOT REGISTER PROM GOWNS, OBVIOUSLY THE CONSUMERS DAUGHTER REALLY LIKED THE GOWN, AND NANCY MUST HAVE LIKED IT AS WELL, OR THE PURCHASE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MADE ON THE SAME DAY THAT THESE TWO CONSUMER CAME INTO THE STORE TO FIND A GOWN. NANCY SIGNED THE SALES AGREEMENT AND AGREED TO OUR TERMS OR THE GOWN WOULD NOT HAVE LEFT THE STORE THAT DAY.
