My husband bought my engagement ring in December of 2003. A couple months prior to the wedding the center stone which was a leo diamond was chipped on the side of the stone. Due to the wedding I waited until after to bring it in (good thing).

After comming back from our honeymoon on 6/30/2005 we brought the ring into be inspected. They decided to send the ring into get the center stone replaced. They stated that due to it being a leo certified diamond they needed to match the quality of upgrade it for free. Several months later after not hearing anything my husband called to see what was going on. They stated that they did not have a diamond of the same certification so it needed to be sent to have a diamond cut and would not return until the end of September.

When the ring finally came in on 9/26/2005 three months later it was not my ring. Not one thing about the ring was the same. The setting was different as well as the size of all of the diamonds. When contacting the store they stated that the setting that my ring was in prior was not a leo setting and they would not put the leo diamond back in my old setting (even though they did it before?) So they destroyed my old ring and sent the new one. I called stating that I did not want the new ring and wanted the ring that I had given them. They stated that I would need to pick out a new one and that was that. I was also told by customer service that they would be sending me a gift card. Do they really think that this makes up for them destroying my engagement ring and giving something else without asking? So now instead of me having memories of my husband picking out my ring and asking me to marry him I will look at my ring and remember this incident and picking it out myself. I have yet to get this resolved due to them not having anything close to my old ring and nothing of the same value in the store.
