On July 3, 2007, two boys around 20 years old, knocked on my door asking me to buy four magazine subscriptions to help pay for their soccer trip in Florida. They said they just moved in down the street, so I let them into my house and said I would help them out.

One of them seemed very quiet and nervous, which was weird to me, but the other one was very friendly. My mother ended up writing a check for me for $178.00 for 3 subscriptions. She even asked me if it was a scam! I assured her it wasn't, but she was right. The friendly one told me that within a business week I would receive a cashier's check refunding me a large percentage of the money, after it was processed... but a month later, I have received nothing of the sort.

I just received a letter from Kays Naturals saying that for some unforseen issue, one of my magazine orders, for Allure, was returned to them and they are unable to fulfill it. They sent me an additional page with 18 other magazines and told me to choose any three in place of the one. I hadn't even gotten one issue for any of the magzines yet.

Suspicious, I looked the compay up online and found strikingly similar reports to mine on ripoffreport.com. Reports of a woman named Karleen Hillary, that hires and abuses kids making them sell magazines and books for so-called prizes, school trips, sports trips, etc.

My advice to you, if kids come to your door selling magazines or books, say NO and shut your door. And if you've already been ripped off, like me, file a report. Let people know about this scam and what Karleen Hillary is doing.. take action!
