Kazaa Gold is not associated with the music download program Kazaa. They use the name to bring traffic to their web site and confuse potential customers. ALL the software they offer can be downloaded for free. It is ALL freeware. For premium membership they promise "live technical support." I've tried it five times and they provide NOTHING. The person I talked to said I should refer to the help files downloaded. Those were out of date and useless. If they really delivered what they promise, it would be worthwhile, but it's obvious they don't care and are just trying to rip as many people off as they can before they are stopped.

Please help to stop them. Don't buy anything from them, and try out their "technical support" yourself at:

The above should all be on one line in your address bar. If you don't get any response, come back here to report your experience.

Clarification: Kazaagold and Kazaaplus are two different websites and two companues that do not seem to be affiliated with each other. Both are worthless, here's why.

Kazaagold is merely fluff and offers no substantive information that you can't find elsewhere.

Kazaaplus has a downloadable program which costs 29.95 plus a monthly subscription fee of 1.45 or so. Both Kazaa and Kazaa plus have downloads that contain spyware from GAIN Publishing which attempts to steal identification, banking and credit card information from your computer files.

Kazaa, Kazaagold, and Kazaaplus all use a process called peer-to-peer networking. The bottom line is that anyone connected as a peer can break into your files and steal information (if they know how) unless you are extremely careful. A good way to protectyourself is to encrypt you bank, credit card, insurance, drivers license, and similar information if you are going to store it electronically.

Kazaa and Kazaaplus merely link to affiliated sites such as mp3university, mp5university, Rhapsody, Bear Share and others. All these sites charge a fee, usually 79 cents per song for downloading music. You can join these sites directly, therefore, you don't need any of the Kazaa sites.

We at kazaagold.com offer connections to free software, advice, and support. We don't claim to represent Kazaa.

We are just one of many music clubs who strive to offer support and advice for the fast growing internet music community.

We offer superior customer support to all other similar music clubs on the net. Our support currently includes 12 hour a day 7 day a week live chat support, 8 your a day 5 day a week telephones and 24 a day 7 day a week email support.

Without our services many of our customers questions about internet music go unanswered. We simply do all the work and research it takes for an individual to effectively begin downloading music and put it in one spot. This includes increasing customer download speeds. Teaching customers how MP3's work. Helping customers learn how to burn CD's and much more.

Our fees are modest and considered a donation because of the continually increasing costs of maintaining customer support, servers, and promotional activities. Surpluses from these donations have been distributed to a large number of non-profit organizations.

We may be contacted at support@kazaagold.com with any questions.
