Complaint Review: KD Smith aka Kirby Vacuum Cleaners

Over the weekend we were deceived by a firm going under the name of K D Smith, a distributor of Kirby vacuum cleaners.

After the rip-off occured I searched the web to find out a bit about Kirby vacuum cleaners only to find the reports on your web site. I was amazed by the reports, but my experience had some similarities. Hence I feel it is my civic duty to warn others about this rip-off.

We didn't buy the product (we were quoted $3,800) not just much because of the rip-off price, but because of the deceptive way in which K D Smith deceived us into allowing them into our home. They appear to have a good product, but how could you trust a product sold be such questionable tactics.

We were led to believe we had won a complimentary shampoo of a lounge suite - only to be told by the salesperson upon arrival that a demonstration was part of the offer, and then later it was not a shampoo but a vacuum clean only.

Although told quite plainly there was no chance we would buy, it took some 90 minutes before we could politely get the salesperson out the door.

My advice to anyone in the Pine Rivers area of Queensland Australia is to say no to K D Smith or for that matter any offers of complimantary carper, lounge or matress cleans.
