Don't look to these people to help you. I live in Memphis. My home is in Foreclosure. I am not working and looking for work. I called to get information about the program. Every single woman I spoke to at the center they assigned me at was rude. They gave me erroneous information trying to convince me I don't qualify because I live in a home where my brother has the lights in his name because I can't get lights in my name with Memphis Light Gas and Water, a MONOPOLY in Memphis. My brother doesn't even live with me nor live in the state! My mortgage is in MY NAME!!!

The black women I spoke to told me they would "Turn me in to Memphis light gas and water" because Memphis light gas and water dictates to everyone in Memphis who can get power and who can't and they won't turn on power unless you have a lease on the home. The power has to be in the name of the lease holder or mortgage holder. The only way I could get service in my own d**n home was to say the home was leased to my brother. If not for that I would not have electricity as my bill was $1,300 when I was first laid off and I was struggling to make ends meet and Memphis Light Gas and Water having the monopoly they do turned me off knowing there was no where else to turn so I did what I had to do.

So these women are going over and above their job duties to SNOOP. The guidelines state I can suppy other alternative forms of utilities such as a phone payment, etc. but these women won't have anything but the light bill. I called Nashville and the agent said they were WRONG. She even called them and that's the only way they admitted they could use another source but by that time it was too late and they knew the lights were in my brothers name and they told me they would have to track him down and have him give proof of where he stayed and he is out of state! And doesn't want to get entangled with this!

So now I"m losing my home just because these women won't allow me to get assistance.

On top of all of this I was hung up on several times, and shouted at. Memphis has the most GHETTO, UNCULTURED, and RUDE people EVER! Straight HOODLUMS. I can't wait to leave.

I have called the keepmytn home in Memphis and I have experienced being treated very very rude. I have been hung up on and placed on hold for several minutes even up to 10 minutes. When I met with the counselor she acted as if she was above me and acted if she didn't want to help me. No offense by all means but the black women could use some training in being polite. I'm not sure who hired them but they shouldn't work in a place where they have to deal with people already having a hard time. It's bad enough but to turn around and be treated in this manner is not right. They are not trying to help only hinder as if they enjoy seeing you struggle.
