Keiser College - Keiser University - Keiser Ecampus Keiser College; Everglades University Dishonesty, fraud, violation of multiple employment and financial aide laws Ft. Lauderdale, Sarasota, Melbourne, Tallahassee, Florida

I am a previous student and employee of Keiser University.  This is an EXTREMELY CORRUPT and dishonest company.  As an employee, I witnessed Keiser 1. Violating student's privacy by calling anyone listed on their forms to inquire about the student being absent from class. 2.  Committing financial aide fraud by telling students that they will be dropped from classes when actually they were placed in a category called "academic interrupt" which allows the university to charge the student twice for the same class.  3.  Lying to students about accreditation of the programs (check RN licensing criteria carefully)  4.  Lying to students about transferrability of classes; 5. After admission, forcing students into on-line classes who do not even own computers.  6.  Attempting to fail students who speak negatively about the school. 6. Granting degrees to employees who never took the classes so that they can make an unqualified instructor look qualified.

Dr. Keiser proceeded to terminate, with little or no notice, huge numbers of the full-time faculty and force them into adjunct positions with low salaries and no benefits.  There are multiple lawsuits against the company for violating EEOC law.  They are being sued for EEOC violations for discriminating against African-Americans, the disabled, those over 40 (age discrimination in termination) and women.  He did this for the sole reason of increasing his profit.  THIS SCHOOL HAS NO CONCERN WITH ACADEMIC STANDARDS.  ANY AND ALL DECISIONS ARE BASED ON HOW MUCH MONEY WILL GO TO ARTHUR AND BELINDA KEISER. Everglades and Keiser Universities are affiliated, but they are NOT the same school!

I graduated from Everglades in April 2010 and--despite a few problems, was a happy student. Here are my responses to some of the allegations made by "Christine":

1. I was never called for being absent from class.
3. EU wasn't regionally accredited when I enrolled, but they finished their requirements while I was a student and were approved by the Southern Commission on Colleges and Schools on June 24, 2010; with accreditation being retroactive to January 1, 2010.
4. I am currently enrolled in another school in my home state and more than half my credits were tranferrable.
5. I did not hear of any students being "forced" into online classes when they didn't have computers, but having a computer is advised if you're not going to move to Florida to attend classes. (This should be common sense!)
6. I had friends who complained about the school and they still passed their classes like everyone else.

As for the rest of the complaints, they sound specific to Keiser University. I would look into Keiser before enrolling, but PLEASE DO NOT PAINT EVERGLADES UNIVERSITY WITH THE SAME BRUSH!
