Complaint Review: Kelly Corrao Finnigan

I have been following this case ever since I came across it, and at the risk of offending a few people, let me make a few statements :

Red Flag #1 : Do a background check on Mrs. Finnigan / Corrao / Silber / Suber / Olszowka. She has addresses in Mundelein, IL, Deerfield, IL, Schaumburg, IL, Millington, TN, two addresses in Havelock, NC, and a post office box in Eastman, WI, not counting her ever-elusive current address(es). People move, I know, but do you want to do business with a fly-by-nighter like this?

Red Flag #2 : As far as current addresses, do you find yourself having a bit of a problem locating 'Sonrisa'? For someone who makes it their cause to give abused and homeless chihuahuas a 'second chance', this seems suspicious to me. It's not easy finding a home for an older dog; check the local humane society if you don't believe me. I have a Fox Lake, IL, Spring Grove, IL, and a Chicago, IL location (no address for any of them; imagine that!), as well as a Northbrook, IL location for her former mobile phone address (recently switched numbers, which shouldn't surprise anyone who has done business with her). Hey, some people have a lot going on in their life, but do you STILL want to do business with a fly-by-nighter like this? Every business person I know of who is interested in success gets their name and address out to as many people as they can. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

Red Flag #3 : Dog breeders close to a major city shouldn't have any problem putting an advertisement in the local newspaper and selling every purebred puppy they have. Why advertise out of state on the internet? I bought my purebred puppy from a woman in my home state who lived hours away from the nearest big city, and she had no problem getting rid of them all through local newspaper advertisements; every single litter. She had a website herself, but told me she would be VERY hesitant to sell a puppy if it involved long distances. Not one of my more valid points, I know, but still another potential red flag.

Red Flag #4 : The price. Between $1,500.00 - $2,000.00 for a teacup or applehead chihuahua? Check around; you will find them in your local area for less.

Red Flag #5 : Raised by the 'marsupial method' (patent pending)? Putting aside general health issues, you buy a dog for traits that are genetic (size, show quality, etc.) and behavior is achieved by training; how it is weaned isn't going to affect either one of these traits to any measurable extent. It SOUNDS like a scam to justify overpricing the puppies. Information on current patents can be found, try to find information on a pending one. So who's to say it even exists?

Red Flag #6 : Can anyone find any documentation on Mrs. Corrao Finnigan's Animal Behaviorist credentials? I have searched extensively, and I cannot.

Every one of these points COULD have a valid explanation, but the fact that there are SO MANY of them should have raised enough suspicion in all of you to avoid doing business with her. LET THE BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

There is a Chris Corrao also registered as living there (I believe this to be her husband), and the address is recent (within the past six months).

Hope you all bring her to justice.

My wife Susan and I were going to do business with this person, and when she sent us an E-mail, our anti-virus software warned us that it blocked an attempt by someone to invade our computer with a virus. We have a friend that is good with computers who came over, isolated this virus, put it on a disc, went back to his shop to look at it, and identified it as a trojan virus designed to relay information from the host computer back to a remote source. When we had the police confront her, she started name calling, claimed we were stalkers, claimed WE were the ones that were trying to steal from her, and shortly afterward seemed to disappear. I hope you all are careful out there; we were lucky and caught her in the act. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH KELLY CORRAO (also uses the last name Finnigan, and was running a business called "Sonrisa's Chihuahuas")!!!!

Whomever posted my name to this report does not know what they are talking about. I have never dealt with Kelly, except to contact her regarding someone else and yes, it was a big mistake. HOWEVER, I did not post this report and someone is using my name for their gain.

Gotta wonder what happed to before the time of the internet when people were forced to confront others face to face or phone and in court? Whomever posted my name why don't you try that? Or is it both you and Kelly can't really do any lawsuits as you have claimed so you go around hiding behind the use of others names and slander?

You vendetta/vigilante ridden people need to get a life...seriously! You are just as bad for posting using a fake name (posing as me) as Kelly is for what you claim she has done. Both of you ought to be locked up and have the key thrown away in the psycho ward. This is just ridiculous and even more questionable that you would use someone else's name to produce more slander.
