Promised repairs were not conducted. A refund of prepaid funds was requested and agreed to by both parties. Seven months have passed and no refund.

On Aug 16 2013 my right side slide on my 2002 Travel Supreme Express 5th wheel trailer would not retract into the trailer. I was advised by the Patrick AFB MWR personnel to call Kelly's RV Repair. Kelly showed up and determined my slide motor was amping out and would soon fail.

The Intellitec slide controller power was only passing one side of the controller and had to be replaced. KMG Slide motor K01336A300, $635.60 Slide Controller 000027100, $175.73 FRT $30.00 Labor $127.50 = $968.83 + 58.12 tax = $1026.95. I paid the total amount on my USAA MasterCard.

Kelly said I didn't know him but he was an honest guy and could be trusted. I advised Kelly that I was moving back to Orlando FL and the repairs would need to be done there No Later Then Aug 24 because I had to be on my way back to Ft Hood TX, and sign in off of leave (I was on active duty at that time) Kelly said he picked up parts in Orlando and that was not a problem.

On Aug 21 I received a text saying Kelly had had a heart attack and would not be able to conduct the repairs. We agreed on a full refund minus a service fee of $75.00 total refund of $950.00.

Sep 17 Kelly says he uses the Square App and it takes 30 days for refunds. Nov 15 he is still trying to get in touch with a human at Square. Nov 16 he started a refund to my card again. Nov 19 still nothing. Dec 20, am told refund is processed and I need to check with my bank. Dec 20, checked every statement and contacted my bank customer service. No record of a refund. Dec 26, agree to meet in Orlando FL so Kelly can give me a cash refund. Kelly does not show up. Dec 30, try again to meet up with Kelly in Orlando. Kelly does not show up. Jan 3 2014, Kelly says he is close to having the cash, expect to meet Kelly the next day. Kelly does not show up. Jan 25, ask Kelly if he will have the money before I have to leave Orlando on Feb 4. Jan 30, suggest to Kelly he send a check for what he can and then $100 a month until fully paid back. He agrees, but has not sent a single check to the address I gave him. Sent Kelly an e-mail but received no reply. Text Kelly about e-mail received no reply.

Tried to get a refund through my credit card, but I trusted Kelly for too long and the required time to challenge a charge had been exceeded, so I received no help from them. All my efforts to help Kelly help me get my refund have failed. I believe Kelly is just telling me what he thinks I want to hear and then doing nothing. I believe he may not have had heart attack at all, but can not confirm. I can no longer trust that Kelly will ever pay me back the money he owes me.

Consumer's Desired Resolution:

Jan 3 2014, Kelly says he is close to having the cash, expect to meet Kelly the next day. Kelly does not show up. Jan 25, ask Kelly if he will have the money before I have to leave Orlando on Feb 4. Jan 30, suggest to Kelly he send a check for what he can and then $100 a month until fully paid back. He agrees, but has not sent a single check to the address I gave him (1033 Lucerne Way, Apopka FL 32703.) Mar 23, Sent Kelly an e-mail asking about our last agreement, but received no reply. Mar 25, Text Kelly about e-mail, but received no reply. 

All my efforts to help Kelly help me get my refund have failed. I believe Kelly is just telling me what he thinks I want to hear and then doing nothing. I believe he may not have had heart attack at all, but can not confirm that. I can no longer trust that Kelly will ever pay me back the money he owes me.

I have every text message sent to and receive from Kelly if needed. I no longer believe Kelly has any intention of paying me back regardless of my efforts to work with him in every way.

Final note; none of the repairs Kelly advised needed to be completed have been done. The motor started working in Orlando and I've had it checked by other maintenance personnel since. No issues can be found and they have not recommended anything be replaced. Due to this, I think Kelly should forfeit the service charge and I should receive a full refund of the money paid. I feel cheated by this individual who has essentially stolen $1026.95 from me.

On Mar 31 2014, I received an email from Kelly saying he had sent a check to my brothers address. On Apr 3 2014, I received an email from my brother saying the check had not arrived. I sent another email to Kelly, telling him the check had not arrived. I have not received a response to that email. Once again I believe Kelly is just telling me the things he thinks I want to hear.

You have been paid,now you are making things up that arent true.you know nothing about my business.i work on a lot of coaches weekly and have for twenty years,now and then things dont go well,like in any business,but i have honored all of my business dealings. Some people are like you,assume they know everything from what they read,and then post things that arent correct.you need to move on,obviously you dont have a life because all you seem to have time to do is harrass me.you are extremely uninformed and are just using this forrum to make yourself feel good i guess.everyone knows someone like you,so just keep writing.you are an idiot and prove it more everytime you write.also,people like you write things and then seem to dissaper when things have been taken care of.no one ever seems to follow up with the truth.you are an idiot,have a nice life.

I will not get into a He said, He said for this report. Everything I wrote in the first portion is true (I have ALL the text messages, but can not copy and paste them here.) Kelly's text about him being in the hospital is why the work did not get completed, not me canceling the service.

Kelly did send two checks to my brother with instructions to deposit them on two seperate dates. The email info from my brother is below;

Check # 1604: $500.00:  Deposit on 23 April

Check # 1605: $526.95:  Deposit on 29 April

The deposit instructions were given by Kelly.

I will deposit into Wells Fargo Crown Banking

checking account ending in 2810: 23,29 April.

Forward this e-mail to Kelly to confirm receipt

or call him. He wants to know I got the checks.

I informed Kelly that the checks had arrived. On 24 April I and received the following info;

Apr 24    Hello,i see that the first check cashed. I am sorry for what happend.

i know you dont believe me about what has happend but it is all true.
i could send you copies of the hospital bills if you would like proof.

i have been fighting major health problems for about a year and a half and things just got bad.

i have been healthy for about a month have to get back to work. what im asking is after the next check clears is there a chance you will take down the things you have written about me.

all the health problems i have ecplained to you are real, i have a wife and three kids and i have to work.

any consideration would be greatly appreciated. or at least add that i have paid you.

thank you very much and hope you will think this over.

Also you did have a problem with the slide or you wouldnt have called me. Sometimes problems do
go away.especially electrical ones.

Kelly wrote from above, after the checks clear, would I consider taking down my report, but then writes here that I refuse to respond.  Another email from Kelly; Well i guess your not going to respond.i guess i deserve that.thanks and again im sorry for all of this.

I had nothing to say to Kelly until the checks cleared. With all the times Kelly had told me something and didn't do it, I wanted to wait the full ten working days to verify the checks would clear. Today is the 10th working day, and I haven't received any returned check notices from the bank. So I can say that I have been repaid in full (In only a little less than 9 full months.)

I want to note that I first filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but was not expecting a reply. I didn't expect a reply because I found another complaint very similiar to mine. I have added that complaint below;

Complaint Category: Failure to honor promised refunds, exchanges, or creditComplaint: Repairman (owner) diagnosed problems with our RV's air conditioning system and satellite system. Claims was unable to obtain satisfactory parts.Problems with our RV were diagnosed by repairman. He claimed as a small business owner, he does not stock the necessary parts and needed the money to get our parts to fix our motorhome. After several phone calls, he then claimed that he did not receive and/or purchase satisfactory parts, i.e. broken, wrong part came in, etc. As our planned yearly vacation was approaching and no time left to rectify our situation, he said he would "give us all our money back and he was sorry". We never have received our money back which is $1,144.80 we were ripped off. Numerous phone calls have been made by both my husband and myself. He never answers the call, rarely returns the call to us after leaving voice mail messages regarding our refund. On the rare occasion that he does return a call, it has been a different excuse each and every time of why he hasn't sent us our money back. I called him on August 1, 2012, again with no answer. I left a message advising him that if he did not respond to my call and inform us as to when he would give us our money back, I would contact the BBB and the Police Department. Strangely enough, he did return my call within minutes. This time he told me his house burned and he lost alot of tools and his papers, etc. He told me he was sorry for dragging this out since May and if I would give him until Friday of that week, he would get us our money. Needless to say, I had small hopes of him being trustworthy in his statement at this point. Only after being ripped off for over $1,000 have I looked into more information on this RV Repair service. I have found other complaints filed with BBB and other online service review websites. It should also be noted that we were recently made aware that he has pulled the same sorts of situations with other RV owners in the Melbourne, Florida area and has been removed from "allowed repair services" at the local RV storage facility and is no longer allowed on the premises. This man has continuously lead us on with excuse after excuse on why he hasn't sent us our money back. He said he would give us all our money back, he will not. We have been badly ripped off by someone who continues to lie and cheat customers. We need help before filing a complaint in small claims court or something of that nature. We are not wealthy people and $1,000 is alot of money to us to get taken by this con-artist. Final note. With all the information I have on Kelly's RV Repair, and all I and others have gone through dealing with him. I will not remove my complaint from this or any other site. I don't ever want anyone else to go through the same struggles that I have. Without Ripoff Report, I fear I would never have received this refund. When this customer called me he had a problem with his slide out motor.the slide would not move.i diagnosed a problem in the motor,His time here was short so i ordered a motor and it is was back ordered.it is a kmg slide and not very common.in the time waiting for the motor the customer had to leave so he cancelled.any one that works on electronics knows that problems do come and go.so the motor started working,no big surprise.i am a small business so when i order expensive parts i charge for those parts so i am not stuck with them,like in this case.i returned the parts and waited for a refund,it always takes a while. In the mean time i had a series of health problems that kept me from working and delayed the refund,yes that was my fault and i am sorry about that.the customer has been payed back in full and is owed nothing,he has written this report but now refuses to add that he has been paid.just wanted to set the record straight.
