Kelly Tire Company Kelly-Springfield Two front tires blow out with 2 weeks of one another after about 8K miles. Company won't replace or even work with us on helping replace. Cumberland, Maryland
I bought 2 Kelly tires for my car from tirebuyer.com on Feb. 26 2011 and had them mounted on the front of my daughters car March 1. Last week on Monday, Aug. 1, the front passenger side tire blew out just before she got to a bridge. I called tirebuyer.com who said they couldn't do anything since I had no road hazard warranty but to call Kelly Tires. I called Kelly tires and the phone rep said just take it to a certified dealer, Sears in Sherman, Texas, being one. I took the tire and after a couple of phone calls to Kelly the Sears guy said to take it to Sherman Tire Co (another cert. dealer) and they would take care of it. After taking the tire to Sherman Tire, their guy took a micrometer to the tire tread and said it was too low (8 mm) and there was nothing he could do. We replaced the tire ourselves and forgot about it until just yesterday (Aug 8) when the drivers side tire blew out. Yes, the second of the two tires. We called Kelly tire back trying to get them to take this seriously and was told that the guys at Sears and Sherman Tire never called them back and to take it back to them. However, I watched and listened as the Sears guy talked for 15 minutes or so to a Kelly tire rep. Sherman is 65 miles from where I live and I can't play tire tag with these people. I seems like Kelly shouldn't have a problem covering tires with 8,000 miles of use on them. Kelly should have taken responsibilty for two out of two tires popping before the 8K mark. We will never buy this brand again.
