first of all my wife is 8 months preggo....we own 2 Honda's a newer 2010 Honda pilot touring and a 2005 Honda civic hybrid....
The 2005 Honda civic is partly operated by a battery behind the back seat to increase gas mileage....but when this goes out..? usually within 8-9 years or 130,000 miles  from what ive read online..and it's NO easy fix...it cost's 3,000.00 to replace at the dealership[...2,300.00 parts and shipping and 700.00 labor apparently....the battery is known by IMA...intergrated motor assist  ( I think )   here's what took place a few days ago ...I called a week prior to ask about a light on in the vehicle...the IMA light was on and then the engine light came on  also...I scheduled an appointment for the next week on Monday at 7:30am...in orem at ken garff Honda...I had already had another individual check the codes on the engine at a parts location...he said it was a connection problem and NOT THE BATTERY due to the 2- different codes he got from our car ......when I spoke to schedule the appointment I told the lady on the phone about the codes and I also asked if it was  covered under the warrenty....?? she said she could not say ..." I had to bring car in for a diagnostic for 99.00 ...!!!
We still used the car and the light "IMA" went out a few days later....The engine light stayed on...?? ( which dealership has to clear off your car )...Me and my wife decided we still better get the vehicle checked...we  then took to Ken Garff Honda in orem on monday May 5th..i wated over 2 hours for our car only to get a hand written quote for the NEW BATTERY..??? I figured that for 99.00 I could get a computer generated report on our car...? so I can see all the specifics..? They could not provide..? weird I thought...I left and the engine light was still on......??????
I then drove to slc from our house in Spanish fork, utah...on may 6th I stopped by the slc ken garff Honda dealership and asked for them to clear the engine light..? (  to see if the orem location was duking us for the 3,000 fee or not....) The slc not only cleared it but the guy said there were NO CODES on our vehicle...?
so the dealership left that light on....so we would buy the 3,000.00 battery replacement....
I THEN CALLED ON MAY 6TH AND SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE OREM LOCATION....He basically said thatthey charge for 2-hours for a 2-min handheld computer  test for the codes.....(which ligh got cleared in slc in about 2-min ) and I paid 99.00 for NOTHING BUT A 3,000.00 estimate that was hand written....and that the DEALERSHIP cannot produce a computer generated report on your vehicle for 99.00 cost..?it's all handwritten and there is NO WAYTO VERIFY ANYTHING.....????? except word of the mechanics..? I WAS COMPLETELY LIVID !!!!!
PLease help us - weve been ripped off and they need a lesson in verifying and p[roviding customers with computer "PROOF" of a 3,000.00 estimate......when it was only a connection that re-connected.....they didn't even clear the engine light for the 99.00 they already got paid either...?You tell me.....

(((REDACTED)))

also....our Honda pilot touring had  an oil change a few months prior in slc....the engine light came on a few days after......it wasn't even filled with oil....it was a quart short...???
WHAT"S GOING ON.....
