After noticing a few strange charges to NSS Magazine, I did a web seach and found this site. Another person filing a report gave a very useful number to call.

Try 1-800-382-5210 to speak with a customer service rep personally. Try 1-800-205-9198 if you have the patience to jump through some hoops and listen to recorded instructions. Either way, if you explain carefully and politely to the customer rep, they can look up the name and address where the unwanted magazines are being sent and cancel any subscriptions they find under your name.

The gentleman I spoke to was very helpful and told me that the refunds (totaling $28 in my case) would be processed immediately and credit should post within a week.

This doesn't mean your bank will see the money in a week, but if you phone your bank as I did, they will be able to see where a refund has been filed after 7 days.

It may take one or two billing cycles for the money to show up in your account, but at least your bank can make temporary adjustments if neccesary.

It won't help to get irrate with the NSS representative. They'll be happy to help if your explain that you didn't order the magazines, or if you cancelled a "free" subscription before the trial period was over.

The best thing is to be very careful and wary of any more "free magazines". Hope this helps somebody out.
