RTR Exotics DOES NOT build any kit cars !    All of the Pictures on the web site are not built by them, and many are real cars, not kits.

My association as an outside source supplier for more than 2 years has allowed me to know that they have not produced any kit they advertise on their site.

They have, in at least 2 cases I personaly know of, have subbed the build out to others that a. could not complete the build, b. wanted more money after they ran out of funds to complete the car per contract, and to this date, still do not have them completed, (1 Jan. 14).

Keith Shay, the owner needed $10,000.00 to send to the subs so that these cars could be completed and delivered.   I did , with assurance from him send the money.    Real stupid!!!!    of course the money did nmot get sent to finish the cars, but for his use.      When it came time to pay the money back to me, nothing but excuses........   and more excuses..............  !

Of course, I now have to sue to get the money.    Which I am pursuing vigorusly !!! One of the clients that was to have a Rolls conversion done on a Chrysler 300 has given RTR a deadline of Jan6 to complete his or same thing.  It will Never be finished by them !    Not only do they not have the ability to complete as per contract, but they have run out of money to pay for the work.  I spoke directly to the owner of the shop in Phoenix where RTR is having the car converted.   They are assuming no responsibility for the build, as they subbed it out to another person that only rents space there.

RTR Exotics makes some mighty claims, which as far as I have experienced in my tenure with them pure phony.

Do not let them take any of your money, as they learned the business from S/R Clones.   What a pair !!

Adding to the Scam

Now it appears that RTR Exotics, with the name change to Rolling Thunder Restorations, and Keith Shay at the head has developed a new twist to get out from under the bad stuff being spread ablut them here and other places online.

The new "Owner" is an Aaron Reed, formerly an associate of RTR Exotics that more than once passed himself off as the legal counsel for Keith Shay.   Still got the e-mail from him in case anyone is interested in seeing it.   It's called evidence.

Changing the "Ownership" does not take away any of the phony information that they use in their website.  The pictures they use for the ads are not a car they built, but stock pictures of others from the net.  He still owes the $86,000.00 judgement and still owes me $10,000.00, and of course has not completed the Rolls conversion on the Phoenix car.   He is bad mouthing Willie Cheeks on his website without telling you the whole story as to why the Veyron did not get finished.   If it was Cheeks fault, then why isn't Shay suing him to recover the $86,000.00 he has to pay Hamade?

Do not fall for this "Ownership" change as it is just another scam by Keith Shay to try and get customers to invest money for a car that won't get built by him.    If you notice on the website, John Grady, former "President" has left the sinking ship along with Greg, the person in charge of trying to draw investors for Keith Shay.   He is flailing in deep water with nowhere to go.   He is hoping to find the investor that gives up enough money that he can pay his judgement to Hamade and to me and find someone to finish the car in Phoenix.

If you are reading this, you must be looking for a replicar or your friend is looking for one.   Whatever you do, stay away from this business and you will not lose your money to them like others have.

You will notice that Keith Shay has not rebutted the latest updates.   What does that tell you ?    I guess his threat to sue if I didn't retract the posting is about as good as his word seems to be in business!

Well it seems that RTR Exotics is now a new company at the same place called Rolling Thunder Restorations.   Their website as of 06/2602014 had a PPX, (power point present) that was asking investors for money.   One of the statements that caught my eye was the cost to obtain an E I N of $1300.00+ dollars for something that is free online from the government.  The other item was the statement that they were able to provide one with a Vehicle Identification Number, (VIN) that was approved from their WMI that would be stamped on the newly constructed car or on an ID plate.     I did some calling to S A E, the department that is in charge of issuing a "WMI", which stands for World Manufacturing Identification numbering .    WMI is an index of builders that after the completion of certain paperwork has a listing and is able to issue a vin that meets certain criteria based upon their entries to the index.  They, RTR, never completed their filing, which was for one vehicle only, not multiples, and they wanted one for a truck as well, which is not done there.

I called RTR Exotics owner and e-mailed the same and of course got no response .  I e-mailed his attorney to try to get information on the filing and received no response there either.  This appears to coinside with the previous actions of the owner Keith Shay.  Thyere seems to be a pattern of serious statements of untruths in his websites.   I would urge ANYONE to be very, very careful when dealing with Keith Shay, RTR Exotics, and/or Rolling Thunder Restorations.   If anyone should wish to see the statements made in the website, feel free to mail me and I will e- the copy to you.

Thank You for reading this as it may save you money and heartache later on when dealing with this man.

#10REBUTTAL Owner of company

I have filed my suit against RTR and Keith Shay.   I also learned today from the Superior Court in Tacoma that on the 14th , a default judgement against Keith will be entered for ...      $86,000.00 !      That suit was for the failure to complete the Veyron that I loaned money to Keith/RTR Exotics to finish the build.    Read the Court docs here

"Pierce county Superior court    U D Hamade v Keith Shay/ RTR Exotics   case no.   142059308. "

Pleasant surprise!!!     Makes my 10K look small.     He has changed his phone number or had it disconnected.

Looks like he's running!

settlement?

#10Author of original report

Keith Shay, dba RTR Exotics has said that he doesn't owe the debt of $10,000.00 to me in his previous rebut.   Well, he has decided to now make an offer to settle the debt he does not owe.   Very strange behavior.   He now wants to give 5k to his lawyer, (whose name he won't reveal) and have her hold the funds, (1/2 of the debt) until i write a complete retraction of my Ripoff Report, sign paperwork that says no more debt, no more communications to him, paperwork from Bank of America that will let him get a return of money sent to some international loan scam , and no more communicating with his business contacts or neighbors or.....

Wow!! What a deal for me......      Apparently he thinks I'm stupid or worse.     I have offered to receive my money from him in payments ,   no.  I would let him sell one of his 20 cars and pay me,    no.     Not real sure what he wants considering he wrote here earlier that he was in no way obligated to repay me for any money.

Apparently there really are others thart read Ripoff Report, and is must be causing some damage to his business.

horray for Ripoff Report,   kudos !!!!!!

Well, again Keith shay has dodged the question of why he won't pay me the money I sent .   He continues to talk about the replicas he has built, ( to this point, none have been done that we are aware of), And his shop in Arizona, AZONE.   The owner, John Grady has stated on more than one call that he is not contracted to RTR Exotics to build and replicas.

The only car that is being built by anyone at AZONE is a replica Rolls on a Chrysler 300.    It is not being worked on at this time by the builder, Robert due again to a money issue to pay for the work to be done.      The only other car That RTR Exotics has contracted for is a Veyron replica being built in Miami.    That one is not completed, and again money to finish is the issue there .

Neither ogf those 2 cars being built or not has anything to do with the fact that Keith Shay continues to fail to repay the money sent to him .    He agrees that he got the money and in fact used it for ???, but now refuses repay it as he dictated to Alan King he would.

The man can not complete any build to this point, as there is no money left in either account to do so .   Both clients have or are in the process of suing for the return of their money as well for failing to complete the builds as contracted, and without any (buyer initiated change orders) client issues.

Keith Shay and/oir RTR Exotics is just simply aperson that has accepted money under somewhat fraudulent parctices , and can not now either repay thefunds or complete the contracted work.

he just keeps piling on the excuses.   Seems kind of strange that not only am I going to court to recover my money from Keith Shay, but the other 2 clients are doing the same thing.   Coincidence..... or pattern of deceit?   You be the judge here .  Read the information and then decide who you want to build your replica, ...or not!

I will keep you posted on the court dates, and the other filings as they are admitted. Do not be fooled by the pictures on the website.

#10REBUTTAL Individual responds

As I stated before. The complaint is false by both ex COO and President of Sales Alan King and the first person making the inital complaint, real name Ted Menard. He never talked to me about any loan nor did he ever have a contract or loan agreement by or anyone that was a member of RTR Exotics LLC. Yes RTR Exotics LLC sub contracted out the builds to other build facilities under contract and the buyers knew about the builders and approved them by contract. AZONE Motorsports in Arizona is an authorized builder for RTR Exotics LLC and has built cars for not only RTR Exotics but also Robs LP640. John and Robert both are talking with and completing the builds Sub Contracted out to them by RTR Exotics LLC. Changes made by the buyers directly with AZONE Motorsports have been the causes for any delays. RTR Exotics posts picture updates on the cars being built on a special page (Build Photos) on the site rtrexotics.net. Anyone in this industry knows that the only way to have replicas built and keep from being sued by the auto manufactures is to broker them. If you have the molds to the cars and build  them you can and will be sued for millions of dollars. All complaints posted on this site is being handled by my attorney and ALL parties will be delt with through legal channels.

#10UPDATE EX-employee responds

Wed, January 08, 2014

I was formerly associated with RTR Exotics LLC as V.P. of Sales and wish to clarify the circumstances surrounding the loan and other matters.

I arranged the loan per request of Keith Shay primarily for the purpose of paying a fee for a large loan that turned out to be a scam. The loan funds went into a company bank account over which Keith Shay had sole signature control and access as the wire receipt will show when this matter goes to court.

Since I was responsible for issuing all build contracts, I would know if one existed. There was no signed build contract for the lender at the time of the loan nor has there been one since. There was only the possibility of such a contract at a later date. Therefore, the loan cannot be construed as a non-refundable deposit on a build contract.

There were only two build contracts and one part order for 2013. None of these have been delivered as promised. These include two custom cars and a 4-piece carbon fiber hardtop for a Lamborghini roadster.

The title, President of Sales, was conferred upon John Grady of Azone Motorsports by Keith Shay posting it on the RTR Exotics LLC web site immediately after my departure. To my knowledge, no such position was ever made or accepted in writing and therefore does not legally exist.

The January 2014 updated web site home page shows Gregory Lake as being the Arizona credit office contact. Mr. Lake stated to me via phone on January 6th, 2014 that he has not been in the credit business since June of 2013 and was unaware of the 'appointment'. Furthermore, he had just spoken to Keith Shay the week prior.

Court time

#10Author of original report

Mr. Shay is working hard to continue to deny the re-paying of the money I sent to him.    Nothing but excuses, even though on 7 seperate e-mail messages, (copies available of course), he agrees to re-pay the funds.

Then, when that time passes, he has another excuse fore not paying then.  All documented, copied, ready to present to the Court.   The money went into the RTR account and it was not our responsibility to control it from that point. Mr. King does agree that he did receive some of the money, but that he received it as wages due him.  Keith Shay apparently used the balance to send to some type of big time loan scam, (copies available).

Keith Shay continues to state that the money was a "deposit" on a car to be built.    Strange though, he does not seem to be able to produce a contract to build or any other suppoting documents for the claim !  Where is it ?

Please do not let this man fool you into giving him any money for ???   We will provide copies of the e-mails to anyone that wishes them.

My name is Keith Paulus Shay and I am the webmaster of www.rtrexotics.net. All I do for RTR Exotics is design and update the website. When inquiries come in they are sent to the President of Sales to handle. The company contracts AZONE Motorsports in Phoenix AZ to build the cars. The statements about a $10,000 loan to me is not true. I never talked to this individual about recieving a loan. The President and COO of RTR Exotics Alan King in Sacramento CA is the person that aranged the funds and recieved them in his RTR Exotics LLC Bank account. There was never a loan nor any paperwork showing a loan signed by any member of RTR Exotic LLC. Mr Alan King stated to me that the $10,000 was a deposit on a future build which was not decided as of yet. On our front page of the wesite it states there is NO REFUNDS of Deposits on builds. I request that this unfounded statements be removed from this site.
