Complaint Review: Key College - Dania Beach Florida - Now possibly in Ft. Lauderdale?

Key College - Dania Beach Florida - Now possibly in Ft. Lauderdale? check out their Facebook Profile! ? I don't know, however, one of the students told me that this college went out of business 5 times under 5 different names! They enroll disabled, older and poverty level students that will never make it through the curriculum, stealing their Grant money. They make it easy in the beginning and then way too difficult to master later on, so you have no choice but to drop out! Ft. Lauderdale Florida

This college should not be able to operate in any State! This school has been "in business" starting in 1974, according to their website at www.keycollege.edu.  They are "owned" by a Catholic Priest in Australia, Chris Riley, who is reportedly known for 'taking kids off the streets' and helping them. In Australia!   Here is his Wikipedia profile:

Riley founded Youth Off The Streets (YOTS) in 1991[1] with a food van delivering meals to homeless youth in the Kings Cross area in Sydney. Since then the organisation has grown to offer more than 35 services, including aboriginal programs, crisis accommodation, alcohol and other drug services, counselling, accredited high schools, outreach, residential programs and a mentoring program. The organisation is non-denominational and works for young people who are homeless, drug dependent and recovering from abuse.[2]

Riley is CEO of the organisation, sharing the belief that no child is born bad, and that by having someone believe in them and through the right support, young people can overcome the immense personal traumas that they face.

Here is proof that Chris Riley is the OWNER OF KEY COLLEGE!  WHY IS THIS? MAYBE BECAUSE IN ORDER TO SUE THE COLLEGE, ONE WOULD HAVE TO GO TO AUSTRALIA!!! SERIOUSLY!  IS THIS A SCAM OR WHAT?

Founder: Chris Riley  oh, so now he's the FOUNDER OF KEY COLLEGE - NOT THE OWNER. HOW DID HE FOUND KEY COLLEGE IN FLORIDA? A CATHOLIC PRIEST IN AUSTRALIA!!   Average salary after attending undergrad: 29,000 USD (2013)  AVERAGE SALARY $29,000?  WHEN I WAS AT KEY COLLEGE, THEY BRAGGED ABOUT SALARIES ON UP TO $60,000 A YEAR PART TIME WORKING AS A CLOSED CAPTIONER!      KEY COLLEGE:  I WANT MY MONEY BACK - GRANT MONEY AND I AM NOT PAYING ONE DIME OF THESE LOANS BACK. THANK YOU!  C. PIERSON   For a school that has been open since 1974, they do not have many students or employers with testimonials on their website.

There is NOTHING on their Facebook page, probably because of all of the students that they scammed out of their Grants and college tuition money.    In general, for-profit colleges are all scams. They charge way too much money, they only give you a letter grade - which is not a credit from an accredited university or college. If you decide to change to a real county or state school with accreditation, all of your college credits that you may have earned at one of these schools is not trasferable.    Submitting your application to the Department of Education to get your loan and grant money returned by the college you went to is relatively easy, if you spend the time doing it. Make sure you take notes about how you were affected by the for-profit college you attended.

I was bullied and pushed out of the classes when it became too difficult. Key College told me that they understood my disability from a Traumatic Brain Injury and that I could take the class at my own pace. I wasn't at the school during a study period one day - it was the the very first time that I actually missed a class - and Miss King - I think her name is now Mrs. Dooley?  Married to Mr. Dooley - the President and Superintendent of Key College?Anyway, I was late and we were supposed to be preparing for the test - and when I got there, the entire class was taking the TEST!  I was shocked. And - to top it all off, Miss King (was her name at that time) told me that she would NOT give me a make up test. She said, I missed it and that was that!

The Test was scheduled for the next period and I would have been on time for that!     They are liars and thieves. They wait until they get enough money from you for 2 or 3 semesters and then they speed up the classes in court reporting - which by the way, is one of the most difficult classes anyone can take. You need exemplary motor skills, coordination, memory, listening ability and much more to succeed as a Court Reporter.  Then, when the class becomes difficult and they get tired of trying to teach many unqualified students how to become a successful Court Reporter, Miss King starts speeding up the classes and makes it almost impossible for anyone to succeed. She also says, look around you!  They're going to be all dropping off like flies! All of the students here today won't be here soon.

This is the opposite of what they tell you when you enroll at Key College in Dania Beach or Ft. Lauderdale - or wherever it is now.    I was scammed into returning to classes in the MIDDLE OF A SEMESTER when I wanted to drop out! Thenk I was scammed when I dropped out on the 5th day - and they know it - I was told that I do not have to go to the office to handle any paperwork - that I could just leave. I was within my 5th day - where they have to let me out of my financial obligation with them. They are still trying to charge me for this!

I was depressed and upset about all of this until I went online recently and saw 100s of articles about for-profit colleges doing the same thing that this school does.   Lie, cheat and steal!  They live luxurious lives on our money and they do not care one bit about how this is affecting our society as a whole. They don't care. They call us stupid behind our backs and soak up the sun in their backyards on a marina somewhere drinking and eating while we're suffering with college loans that are much too high and impossible to pay.

Thank goodness I found a way out of my depression and I am now doing something about this - on every level possible. Please contact me. Let's talk!  Add your experience to this report and file for your money back! You will get your grants and loan money returned to you so you can get a proper education!   https://borrowerdischarge.ed.gov/FormWizard/BDU/BDULanding.aspx   Also, PC Professor has some excellent courses.
