Complaint Review: Key - KeyBank

Key KeyBank ripoff attempted identity theft steal bank information Cleveland Ohio

I recieved an e-mail alerting me that "fraudulent activity has been registered on some of our accounts". I've never even heard of KeyBank. After clicking the link in the e-mail, I was directed to a site that asked for my ATM/Debit card number, pin, expiration date, and SS number WITHOUT logging in. I did not fill anything out and proceeded to read in the footnotes of the page. Supposedly, they are a "Equal Housing Lender". I'm a college student that lives at home. Why would I have a home loan?

the fraud issue that you received is not a part of KeyBank. if you look on the paper you received keybank is spelled in lowercase. our "B" in bank is always uppercase in all of our email messages. if you receive anything like this in the future, please call 1-800-Key2You. our security department is working on this problem. fyi - KeyBank employees do not have access to your PIN number, so they will never ask for that number.
