I'm glad I'm smart enough to not fall for this scam. I received a letter from Key-Stone Financial Services stating "We are pleased to bring this official notice which confirms that you are a 2nd prize winner in the second category of the USA Mega (under the international Sweepstake) draw held on Feb. 16th, 2009. The serial number ******* attetched to your name matched the first five lucky winning numbers ********** and subsequently won US $485.000.00." Blah-blah-blah. "Payment will be made by a CERTIFIED CHECK, which will be delivered by our special courier company. Enclosed is a check in the amount of US $4,800.00 which is provided to help you pay for the taxes and it is payable to your tax agent." So I'm just curious what kind of mailing list am I on that would send me such BS, so I called. The agent said all I have to do is deposit the check into my bank account and call him when it's done. WOW, is it really that simple? I asked them how did they get my name and he could not answer the question. Is the word "stupid" printed after my name on some database where people think I'll fall for anything? I have also been getting calls on my cell phone stating I have won money. I have not been scammed but I needed to post this so smart people will take the time and look things like this up before they do anything to ruin their lives.
