I don't think I've ever read something of your that I didn't like. I've been preaching the "economics of illegal immigration" for years, largely to a deaf crowd.

Thanks for showing that there is at least one person out there who isn't willing to turn a valid political argument into a Klan rally.

That's right, if you want to get rid of all the Mexicans and all the Middle Eastern workers, it's very easy to do.

All you need to do is take their jobs. You see, the companies would much rather stay in compliance by hiring American workers.

Of course, there is one small problem. You'll have to do hard, manual labor for 10 hours a day. And, you'll need to do that labor for $5 an hour, maybe less.

So, next time you see an illegal worker, simply go up to the manager and offer to take the job for the same money, or slightly less. The illegal will be fired. You will be hired.

Of course, there's one other little problem. Most Americans simply won't do hard, backbreaking, dirty jobs for very little money.

Americans demand an easy life. We expect to drive around in air-conditioned SUVs, with cell-phones glued to our ears. We expect office jobs, where the hardest thing we do all day is shuffle some papers.

I have to be honest with you. I don't know of one single American who would stay bent over picking strawberries in a hot field all day. Do you?

My suggestion is, instead of looking down your nose at illegals, you may want to stop and think for a moment. They are the ones who shovel the s**t, so that Americans don't have to.

Besides, when it really comes down to it, is there any difference between a sandwich made by an illegal and one made by an American worker. They both taste the same to me.

Understand how the economy works first. Then, you'll quickly see the place of illegals in the American workplace.

there are many restaurants around the lenexa, overland park, olathe area that are just loaded with illegals. I once went to that kfc but left because nobody spoke english at the drive thru, another one that is real bad is the quizno's at college and lackman, wendy's at 119th and strang line. I myself refuse to spend my money at a place that doesn't understand my language and i wish other people would make the same choice.
