I purchased a 2002 Kia Spectra in October 2006 with 32,800 miles on it, with the understanding that it was covered by the 5yr/60,000K remainder powertrain warranty.

Imagine my surprise to find out that with 35,600 miles the Automatic Transmission went and Kia will not honor the warranty because we can not produce maintenance receipt to show that transmission was serviced at 30,000miles.

To me with the low mileage on this vehicle KIA should honor the warranty or at least contribute to the cost of replacing the transmission.

I have read so many horror stories about KIA warranty that I am now regretting not only this purchase but the fact that I purchased a 2004 KIA new from the dealership.

KIA'S 10/100,000 warranty I am starting to believe is just a means to get you in the door as they do not honor their warranty!
