On March 23, 2005 I won the bid on a portable dvd player. I sent the payment promptly to Kimberly Adolf. She left positive, glowing feedback for me for the quick payment. She emailed me and said that she would send the dvd player out on early in the week. Then I email her about a week later and ask her when she mailed it and she said friday... since when is friday early in the week? I never received the dvd player. She then proceeded to stall by saying she'd ship a new one once her "supplier" shipped her some. Then she said she'd refund me because she didn't know when she was going to get more dvd players. She said she would pay half that weekend and the other half the following weekend.

Needless to say I never received a dime from her. She has made a number of promises and doesn't follow through. She is a liar and a thief. Fortunately, ebay banned her so she can't rip off anyone else. I'm sure she's finding another way to rip people off.

I did not get my money back!!!

Hey, I am over this, but the fact remains that I did not receive a refund. You stole money from ME and you should have refunded ME, not paypal. I don't believe that you refunded paypal, when I paid you with a money order. Paypal doesn't get involved in disputes unless it was used as the payment method. Once again, you prove yourself to be dishonest.

Who is your DVD supplier?

I'm not in defense of this eBay seller, for eBay clearly states that seller assumes "ALL" resposibility for the product they sell, even if they don't have the product in their hot little hands.

Now that being said, I'd bet that this young lady is dealing with a dropshipper on this DVD player. I can almost smell which one. Note to lady: If I'm wrong then please rebut this.
I tried dropshipping for one week and ended up ending my auction early because the supplier to the dropshipper pulled one of the products I was selling and that would have been very bad for me if I'd had a bid on the said product. The problem is that you don't know the supplier will pull the product unless you check.
Many ebayers find out this sad fact when they hear from the buyer that they have not received the product they bought.

So, here's a word of warning to both buyers and sellers: DON'T EVER DEAL WITH DROPSHIPPERS! If you can't see, feel or smell the product, then don't try to sell something that you have not personally held in your hands. Buyers please take the time to ask seller a question if they personally hold the product in their home or store, real brick and morter I mean.

The way to tell if an item is dropshipped on an eBay page is these words: "This item is a pre-sale item." Those words are required by eBay to put in your ad when you drop ship a product. If you don't, then eBay can and will suspend your account. Why? Because eBay knows that many folks may not care to bid on an auction that is a pre-sale for it's possible the very product you bid on you may not receive. Now some eBayers who drop ship don't put those words on their page and if I run across them by chance I first notify the seller, perhaps they're ignorant or report them to eBay if they have been selling for a while and should know the rules and regulations.

An easy way to tell if a item is being drop shipped is how many a seller has in their product info. If a seller lets say has 50 guitars selling for 80 dollars or so, chances are they're not storing that many in their garage. Unless it's actually a brick and Mortar store, then perhaps that may be reasonable.
Anyway the moral here is- BUYER BEWARE!-.
And.... to the lady who sold the DVD player, You are responsible to pay back the person you ripped off whether it was intended or not! They bought something out of trust from you and you failed to give them the product. Get a second job or pick up cans, but pay the person back the money they gave you, today! By working with the person and resolving your issue in an honest manner, then with a little work, maybe you can get your positive feedback restored on eBay. Remember, an apoligy means nothing without action.

Kim, it is not the fault of your buyers that you had these problems. You are a seller of goods. Period. Here are my main issues with your response:

You said:

"Well the winning bid was too low to cover the cost of the product from the supplier so I didnt know what to do. I got a request that I thought saved me. Someone sent a large money order for several players. I Thought I could use my profit to also get this guys player."

This is your fault alone. Ebay has a function call "Reserve Pricing". By using this function you ensure that your product doesn't sel for less than you want it to. But you chose to sell it with no reserve. The fact that it didn't exceed your cost isn't their problem. You entered into a contract to sell it to someone at the agreed upon price. You are bound by that price.

You said:

"When I took the check toi the bank I was told it was fake. I was upset and ashamed, so I told him I would send half and half. At that time I didnt have anything else to sell to make the money. I couldnt give him his money back,I didnt have it."

This also is not their fault. You spent money you received for the items and then spent it prior to shipping out an actual product. This is plain thievery, plain and simple. Had you simply help onto your customers money until such time as yousent their product, you wouldn't have had any problems.

You said:

"To Barry Im sorry but ALL THIS??!!!Im a girl, I dont want my info posted on the net, thats dangerous. You got your refund, i paid for my mistake. This is ridiculous!!!"

This isn't ridiculous at all. You ripped people off. They want their money. Your info is available to anyone on Ebay, so whats the big deal? The end of the story is you owe these people their money. Pay them. just because you got taken is no excuse, you need to pay back the customers you ripped off and then go after the guy who sent you a "bad check".

Kim,

I was never refunded, so yes I am a little disgruntled. I didn't use paypal so paypal did not refund my money. I sent you a money order. I am out $80+ of my hard earned money. You said YOU would refund my money and you didn't. I think that is pretty unfair.

Yes,I did sell a dvd player to this guy;but I didnt intend it to go this way.I had 100 percent positive feedback before I started to sell those dvd players.I was without a job in college so I tried to sell dvd players.Well the winning bid was too low to cover the cost of the product from the supplier so I didnt know what to do.I got a request that I thought saved me.Someone sent a large money order for several players.I Thought I could use my profit to also get this guys player.

When I took the check toi the bank I was told it was fake.I was upset and ashamed,so I told him I would send half and half.At that time I didnt have anything else to sell to make the money.I couldnt give him his money back,I didnt have it.

So When it came up with ebay and paypal,he was given a refund.I'VE EVEN PAID PAYPAL BACK FOR THIS.When they sent me a letter,I mailed a money order to cover it.

To Barry Im sorry but ALL THIS??!!!Im a girl, I dont want my info posted on the net, thats dangerous. You got your refund,i paid for my mistake. This is ridiculous!!!
