Doesn't make sense...
Of course you would state such comments if you worked there. Perhaps you worked in a better center that did manage to follow State Laws & Rules!

This Camarillo center DID NOT follow the "same principals & practices". They did not follow thr "Black & White posted" procedures!

At the beginning, I was a naive, 1st time parent & single mother, unaware of ALL of my resoures, but I was not a neglectful mother & I did not just "dump off" my child at daycare! I immediatley requested that the teacher in question NOT be allowed to care for my son, while the compliants were under investigation. I soon became aware of ADDITIONAL resoures DURING the INVESTIGATION & COMPLAINT PROCEDURE! & got the support I needed from my husband upon his return! AND JUST TO NOTE, MY SON NO LONGER GOES TO ANY CENTERS!

Yes, this complaint really does "speak numbers about the person I am". I am a VERY RESPONSIBLE MOTHER WHO IS PROTECTING MY CHILD'S RIGHTS & WELFARE! I WENT THROUGH THAT CENTER WITH A FINE TOOTH COMB! My husband had the right to confront that director! I should have as well, but I would have done worse! AND any angry parent has the right to as well!
But the director tried to hide behind a "dis-enrollment" to try to deviate from the investigation, is bull! And shows what kind of a director that is in charge of our children at that center. And I did not cause "problems for the center" I simply corrected their negligence and made parents aware of the coverups they try to hide & deny when they get busted!

EVERY PARENT HAS THE RIGHT TO REQUEST THE PROCEDURE OF ANY TEACHER IN QUESTION CARING FOR THEIR CHILD! I SURE DO HAVE THE RIGHT & IT IS MY BUSINESS, ESPECIALLY IF THIS TEACHER IS CARING FOR MY CHILD! Also, to add to this, some people do commit crimes, after a "PRE-EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND CHECK" or the crimes do not show up 'on record' until often after a background check is completed!

These teachers do have a ratio, and they also have assistance. They are required to call for assistance when they need it, which often NEVER happened in this center! One time I walked in, and one teacher had 18 toddlers in her room. Unnacceptable. I went to the front desk & told it to the director! Teachers go into this job usually because they love caring for children & teaching children. If they do not like their job or grow tired of being a teacher, they should quit & NOT TAKE IT OUT ON OUR INNOCENT CHILDREN!

I do agree with you that "KinderCare is for profit". And I will add Knowledge Learning Corporation is in this business only for profit as well! That's a shame, THEY CARE NOTHING FOR THE PARENT'S CONCERNS NOR THE CHILDREN'S WELFARE & RIGHTS! JUST DO A SEARCH & LOOK AT ALL THE COMPLAINTS AGAINST KNOWLEDGE LEARNING CORPORATION AND KINDERCARE NATIONWIDE!!!

My final word for the record, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILD AT KINDERCARE! EVER!

I worked at Kindercare in Northren California and most Kindercares are the same and are ran in the same way.

Before you put your child into any Daycare or Learing Center you should get public records on the facility and read all the complaints, so you can weed out the good places from the bad. You should also make sure that all the teacher and any workers that interact around or with the children have been finger printed and/or have some type of college ECE units or degrees in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.

I have been working in Early Childhood (ECE) for over 20 years and not all facilities are for profit there are some good places that are child centered. I personally would not ever put my child into a Kindercare Learing Center because they are always under staffed, they are always out of ratio, sometimes they have no centers or activites for the children to keep the occupied and some of the facilites are filthy.

How to spot a good childcare center.....well it's not very hard IF you know what to look for.
* All the teachers and staff have Early Childhood Education units (ECE) from a college or University.
* There are developmentlly appropreate (DAP) learning centers set up in each classroom so the children can explore learning in Math, Art, Music, Dramatic play, Science, Reading, Writing, Manipulatives.
*There are (DAP) learing centers set up outside as well in the play yard so the learing can continue outside as well.
* Teachers actually interact with the children and take note on the development of the children in there care ie: portfolios on all children in their classrooms....a portfolio is a vivid documantation on what the children are actually learing in the classroom beyond the mile stones of all the relms of development.
* Flexability on classroom scheduals to meet the needs of the children.
* The classroom curriculum is mostly made up of the needs of the children depending on the age of the child ie: toothbrushing, handwashing, toileting, cleaning up their own messes, feeding theirselves, serving themselves their own meals and snacks.

If you have a good center this is not hard to do at all and remember that YOUR paying for your childs education, so you can be picky, but remember that most childcare workers DO NOT have the propper training to work with children; therefore' it is not there fault that there is not a good program at the center that your child is at it is the responcilibity of the Director to impliment a well rounded program and for the education and training of each of their staff members in that facility.

So be careful who your pointing fingers at and put yourself in that Teachers position. If the facility if understaffed all the time and out of ration all the time then how is it a teachers fault? It's not it's the administrations fault becaue they are too cheap to hire other Teachers to save their company money in the long run which does NOT benifit YOUR child in the end.
