I purchased Kingston Technology 512MB of RAM, KGT KVR400512R, from Circuit City on March 4, 2007. There was an advertised special $31 rebate for purchases made March 4 through March 10, 2007. I printed off the rebate form and the email reciept Circuit City receipt and mailed them with the UPC from the package on March 25, 2007. I received a postcard in the mail saying the the rebate had been refused because the "Purchase date on receipt does not fall within program dates." I called the customer service number and was told that the purchase date in their system was March 25, 2007.

I told the representative that I purchased the RAM on March 4, 2007. She told me to send another copy of the receipt with the purchase date highlighted or circled and the post card. I returned both to the address provided. I called on May 25, 2007 to check on the status of my rebate. The customer service representative said it was being processed but would not give my a date on when I might receive it. I told the representative that it had been about 2 months since I first submitted it.

He then said that it was rejected because of my error. I corrected him and told him that the date that was entered at their end was incorrect, that someone had entered the date the receipt was printed. He kept insisting that it was my error. When I informed him that I had resent the email reciept with red arrows pointing at the date of purchase he began to deny that they accept email receipt.
