Complaint Review: KIP KILLMON'S TYSONS FORD

KIP KILLMON'S TYSONS FORD Ripped off on Cars for Clunkers. Had a signed contracted dated 8/1/09 for a specific car. Opps, it was scratched and they would get us another. 8/21/09 call saying they were sorry, but no car. Fairfax, Virginia

On July 31, 2009 my wife an I went to Kip Killmon's dealership to purchase a new Ford Fusion under the Cash For Clunkers program.  We sat with a Rob and agreed on a Fusion SEL, sangria red, and equipped with only the items we needed.  Signed the contract, had financing confirmed and were told the car would be ready to go in a couple of days since they had to pick it up from a dealer.

Approximately 3 days later we called to see what was happening.  We were told by the Rob that the car we had a contract had a big scratch and they did not want to sell it to us, but they would find another on ASAP.  About a week later we were told that they had found one at a Baltimore, MD area dealership and they would be getting it for us.

We continued to wait for what we thought was our new vehicle.  Called on 8/21/09, talked to Rob again.  He told us he was just going to call us to deliver the bad news -- the other dealership won't release the car.  I then talked to Hoyt, a new car manager and amazingly enough he had a more expensive model of the Fusion he would give as a "good" deal on.  Their idea of a good deal was was not my idea of a good deal when I had to buy a bunch of options that I did not want.

When I said I had a signed contract for a specific car, he was rather caviler about it and said he would give me my money back (mighty nice of him, right).

Bottom line I would suggest that people find a more reputable Ford dealership, of which there are many.  Contracts with the Killmon dealership HAVE NO VALUE.  Their not being honest with us caused us to miss out on the Cars for Clunkers program.  In my opinion they are very dishonest.

I note this is not the first posting about this dealership.
