Complaint Review: Kirby Vacuum Company

Yes, it's hard getting through the entry level of the Kirby domain. It's even harder navigating through the mid and upper level positions of area and factory distributor. Due to the non franchisee status of the alleged glory of owning your own business you aren't protected in any way from the decisions of corporate ,the usually misappointed leaders named divisional supervisors or your neighboring distributors. As a female in this particularly male dominated business I have witnessed countless abuses towards ethics, couth, morals, laws and many of the Kirby code of ethics standards purported to be the basis of a Kirby distributorship. The pie in the sky promises aren't just made at dealer level, either, you're lied to, ripped off from winning contests and even the alleged returns of promoting other distributors. So after 25 years of maturing in life, I QUIT. This doesn't seem to be restricted to the Kirby Company , however, in all fairness, many corporations operate with this type of hypocrisy. The product is awesome, the experience is fun and the personal growth rewarding, but the overall company standards and premises, in my mind, suck more than the vacuum cleaner. Or as we used to joke, all the way to the bank
