Kitchen Collection Inc & Flora Campbell ARE DISHONEST, OSHA VIOLATIONS, DISCRIMINATION Bridgeport, West Virginia
I was emailed the link to the Ripoff Report titled:Kitchen Collection, INC And Flora Campbell, Store Manager Shady employer Bridgeport West Virginia. In October of 2004 I was hired as the Assistant Manager of a KCI seasonal store in Parkersburg, West Virginia. After two weeks, I was promoted to Manager. My store had such amazing sales, it was kept open after the Holidays. During my first year, I was contacted by corporate offices asked to participate with other hand selected store managers to advise corporate on how to improve the shopping experience in the stores. I had been selected as my reputation as a manager was solid and my sales were high. Moreover, when the next Holiday season rolled around, I was asked to help set up two other seasonal stores as well as mentoring a store. That meant I was in charge of the set up, hiring training and supervision of another store. My first inventory at the end of the year was so good that I was called by the CEO of the company and told it was one of the best in the company's history. Shortly after Christmas, my store had to move to another location in the Mall. During that time, Corporate sent two people to set up shelving in the new location. Shortly after we moved to the new location I was severly injurred as a shelving unit collapsed and fell on me injurring my neck, shoulder, & back. Once I filed the initial workers comp report I noticed that the kindness I was once given was NOT sustained. I was off work almost three months and not once during my time off, was I called by my boss or corporate to see how I was doing. When I returned to work, I found that nothing had been done to fix the shelving. I contacted corporate and asked for assistance. None was given. I contacted the company who created shelving and asked for assistance and they provided me with a manual & information on the shelving which showed that it was improperly installed.
I again provided this information to my bosses at corporate and nothing was done. Moreoever they would not say one thing or acknowlege my emails and calls. Therefore, I consulted the policy and procedure manuel, and it stated I must contact OSHA, so I did. OSHA came to the store and did an interview with me and inspected the shelving. Following the investigation KCI was found to have been in violation of OSHA and was fined and had to abate the shelving. (please note this is public domain in Charleston at that OSHA office from April of 2007) Moreover, I had to undergo surgery fusing my neck with a plate and four screws from the injury I sustained from the improperly installed shelving. KCI arranged to have the meeting with OSHA the exact date and hour that I was having surgery so that I could not attend the meeting. I would like to point out, my surgery was less than a mile from this meeting and not one person stopped at the hospital or called to see how it went. Moreover, when I was off work another manager from another store was sent to my store to "help out" from corporate. She was caught removing merchandise from my store by one of my employees. He called me and we contacted corporate who stated she had simply forgot the procedure. This was a regional manager who was well versed in this policy which required entering the outgoing merch into the computer as well as hand written documentation that was to be sent to home office. Once I reported to Home Office, I had two people contact me from Home Office who wished to remain annonymous who told me to watch my back as the HR Manager and CEO wanted me "out". These people had seen it happen before and were just being kind. KCI set out to assisinate my character and engaged in insurance fraud by falsely reporting to BrickStreet insurance that I was leaving work and falsely reporting my time. An investigation was instigated by BS Fraud and I was found to have been completely honest. Please keep in mind I was continuing to work and my sales and numbers were just as good as they had always been. I was secret shopped on several occasions and was rated quite high. KCI asked an outside Loss Prevention Company to investigate me, and he reported I followed procedure, I had a great score. The stress was mounting and I started seeing a Doctor for my mental health and I was diagnosed with PTSD and I contacted Corporate to ask for assistance and time off. It was denied. The day after I sent my email asking for help and telling them of my mental health the HR manager sent an email to KCI attorney referring to me as a "NUTCASE". I know this, as she inadvertantly copied me on the email. It was humiliating. I was being mocked and had a smoking gun that was people were telling me was true. I reported it to Corporate Compliance, and the CEO of the company sent me a personal email telling me that HR Director had gone "rogue" and was acting on her own and not by company direction. However, about a month later I had inventory and a manager with much less experience with the company was sent to "oversee" my inventory. This woman is named Flo Campbell. Mrs. Campbell did not assist in counting inventory, but rather she hovered over the computer that assessed the downloading of the inventory. She was often left alone. She also left before inventory was finished saying she really needed to go. Although I was required by my Doctor to only work 8 hours, I had to work more than 14 hours the day of inventory, and about 12 the next day. I was called by my boss and said I had no choice or I would be fired. I ended up in the ER and had a bit of a breakdown. I was taken off work by my Doctor. Within 24 hours of me being taken off work, someone taped a letter to my front door that stated I was fired. It had a final check. About two hours after that check was taped to my door, one of Mrs. Flo Campbells employees called me and said that Flo had confided that she was involved in fudging my numbers and was going to be named the manager of my store. I filed discrimination with the Department of labor against HR Director and KCI which is also public domain. She was fired and I was told that the CEO of company resigned. Finally...the job of manager of my store was given to Flo Campbell who also manages the Bridgeport store and was given a hefty raise. Therefore, I must agree that KCI and Flo Campbell are shady. I know it to be a fact. Just ask her ex husband who is a policeman in that area or one of her children. Mrs. Campbell has a long history of deceit and trouble making in the Clarksburg and Bridgeport area. Her reputation is that of trash.
