Do not purchase the "extended warranty" that Kmart may offer you upon purchasing any type of product, it is indeed a scam!!!! They will try to talk you into buying the "extended warranty", and explain how amazing it is for dirt cheap.

Well, my friends, that is a blatant lie, and it is merely a joke. You would think, a big retail store such as Kmart would never want to have an unsatisfied customer, because a happy customer is a repeat customer, right?

I am NOT a happy customer, nor will I ever spend another penny at Kmart.

I purchased a tablet for my daughter at the Kmart store located in Hillsboro, Ohio in late September. Here I am now in December, with a broken tablet and full of frustration.

I ended up being the sucker whom fell for their "extended warranty" scam, which was supposed to cover EVERYTHING, even if it breaks. The cashier in the electronics department of Kmart had told me that if the device fails, or breaks, bring it back to the store.

Well, the tablet broke back in early November, I did exactly as the cashier instructed me to do, and brought it back to the store. What did I get? A rude, untrained employee, whom looked at me as if I was a moron for even bringing the item back.

I was told by this "customer service representative", that I needed to call the number on the pamphlet she handed me, and they would be able to better assist me.

I called the next day, only to hear that my device wouldn't be covered because it was cracked. Let's just say, that individual whom answered my call was most likely in a crappy mood after hearing what I thought.

Point is, my daughter is very upset over this whole ordeal, I am out both a device and money, and I am absolutely appalled at how they can get away with a scam such as this! I will be reporting them to the BBB, and I will never shop there again! I will also be letting others know just how much of a crook Kmart is.

I want my money back, this is the true definition of a class A  RIP-OFF!!!!

Your problem isn't with the warranty, it's with the salesperson who sold you the plan.  You didn't say which tablet you bought, so I went to the K-Mart web site and it looks like it's called a "smart plan" which is a generic warranty for tablets.  The warranty specifically states it doesn't covered cracked screens.

I would compain to the store manager or higher about the CSR's attitude (all of them). There's never a reason to be rude to a customer.
