Knight Law Offices Donald K. Knight Fraudulent Attorney Atlanta, Georgia
In March of 2009, I hired Attorney Donald K. Knight to represent a property dispute on my behalf. Unfamiliar with the process of hiring an attorney, I was not offered a retainer agreement, but he required a $2,000 retainer fee. Over the course of a month and a half, I paid him an additional $4,000 for fees related to the case. Toward the end of April, after numerous calls to his office and answering service, I was unable to contact him. The office I initially met Mr. Knight went vacant. Soon after, he disconnected his office telephone number.
With no recourse, I filed a grievance with the State Bar of Georgia. He was able to hire someone to respond to the complaint, but other than that, he is unreachable. I never received one document from Mr. Knight for work done on my behalf. When I checked his status with the Georgia State Bar, today he shows "Inactive in Good Standing" meaning he paid his dues, but relinquished his right to practice in the State of Georgia. I also engaged the arbitration office, but they are unable to locate Mr. Knight, and thus we can't arbitrate anything.
Mr. Knight represented himself to be of sound mind and professionalism. To this day, I do not know where he is, but not only am I out of $6,000, the original issue that I hired Mr. Knight for lurks.
