My boyfriend and I chose to stay at Knights Inn hotel among the many other options due to the advertised low rate of 31.99 / night and an indoor pool. We were definitely going to stay at a hotel with a pool, and made sure to bring our bathing suits. We checked in quickly, the lady was pretty nice, and we went up to our room. The first thing we did was changed into our suits to take a dip. When we arrived at the pool, there was a yellow note attached to the locked gate that was a Notice of Closure--stating the pool was closed until further notice by the Health Department. I called the front desk and demanded a refund--seeing as how it was advertised there was a pool, and no sign or mention at the front desk of the pool being closed--and the lady was immediately defensive and refused to give our money back because "it states there are no refunds at the front desk." While we tried explaining that we weren't concerned with anything else other than the pool, she told us that if we didn't immediately hang up, we would have the cops called on us! I was almost in tears, not only because I just spent 40 dollars on a useless hotel with nothing to do for a night, but also because I was treated so rudely and inconsiderately.
