Complaint Review: Craigslist Ad Phone Number 469-256-4598

I responded to a Craigslist advertisement for a couch. The couch was being advertised for $300.00. The advertiser said that she would take $250.00 but would need to have half of it as a deposit as there is another lady who wants the couch and she boyfriend were out of town and would not be able to deliver the couch until later on in the week. I sent a $125.00 deposit via cashapp and she (or he or both ) has pretty much disappeared.

I was sent a text message that her dad was in the hospital and that there would be a delay in delivering the couch until this past weekend. I was not contacted at all. I received a message via Google pay (they initially tried to get me to send the money via this app but I could not get it to work and ultimately used cashapp) from someone who claims to be the boyfriend of the intial person I was in contact with indicating that she had not contacted me because she has been in an accident.

I conducted a Google search on the original number tied to the ad and see that someone else has reported them as having defrauded them via a Craigslist ad as well.
