Complaint Review: Kobo.com

Kobo of Canada Won't refund money for defective Kobo E-reader. Very poor Customer Service. Will delay, put off, pass to another department, etc. Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

I ordered & received a Kobo Glo e-reader.  After about 3 weeks, the item malfunctioned.  I called the number given to Canada & reported it.  Then I was sent a replacement unit.  This unit also failed with the skipping of pages.  After much argument with Customer Service, I was finally given a return authorization to return both units.  Iniatially, the company refused to pay for the return, stating it was against their policy.  Many calls have been made asking for a refund.  I was told that refunds are not given -- only store credit is issued.  Supposedly all of this in their Terms - which I can't locate.

On the Kobo web site on Facebook, many other complaints similar to my situation seem to be occurring.  I have involved my credit card company in hopes that they can help get my money of $130.00 returned.

Both Kobo's were returned on April 5, 2014.  Still no refund.
