Complaint Review: Kraftmaid

Last Summer I puchased almost $15,000 worth of Kraftmaid cabinets from TecProducts in Miami. Almost immediately the doors. which come installed from the factory started falling off. It looks like they were stripped screws, similiar to other reports I have read her on Rip-Off report. My husband fixed the first few, but when we realized that this problem was going to continue we contacted the distributor, was told they would stop by and never showed up.

We then contacted Kraftmaid, who would not even speak with us, saying to take it up with the distributor. After numerous calls the distributor did come over looked at the cabinets and said she would take care of it. Her "taking care of it" was purchasing a few screws and then telling us to hire our installer to put them in. Obviously this was unacceptable and we continued to demand a solution. Finally my installer agreed to change out the screws as a "favor". Obviously we are not on the top of his to do list and this has not been completed. Meanwhile, 2 more doors have literally fallen off the cabinets.

I am also reluctant to have him do anything that could void the warrenty. At this point, I would never recommend Kraftmaid to anyone. Having a manufacturing error is one thing, leaving the customer hanging out to dry, another.
