Kristin Collins is selling counterfeit Louis Vuitton merchandise. She is claiming the merchandise to be authentic. For the sale, she includes the original Louis Vuitton store receipt, tags, care booklet, etc. The merchandise is counterfeit because I took the merchandise to the Louis Vuitton store and the Louis Vuitton sales associate said that the merchadise Kritian Collins sold me was fake. One website that authenticates adn wants to put the stop on fraud Louis Vuitton merchandise is MyPoupette.com and on the website, MyPoupette.com, it states: "Poupette is, too! Did you know that it is illegal to sell counterfeit trademarked goods and that it can get you arrested, even if you didn't know they were fake?"

Don't buy bootleg handbags!

#3Consumer Suggestion

Fri, August 05, 2005

If you are going to buy a bootleg handbag, recognize it for what it's worth...more than likely not an authentic and will probably only last a few months at the most.

Another reason not to buy bootleg handbags is because the lady at the store told you correctly...you can be charged for receiving stolen merchandise (in many states) even if you honestly didn't know it was stolen at the time of purchase. This cut and dry. If someone is selling an "authentic" $1500 handbag (LV, Prada, etc) for $200, this should be a major red flag.

I've seen "fake" LV with serial numbers, manufacturer imprints in the lining, tags, etc. THEY ARE NOT REAL. One of the easiest ways to identify a real LV before purchasing is because the lettering never runs into the stitching/creasing.

The last time I bought a LV was many moons ago at the actual store. From what I was told, the only way these bags are guaranteed is if you buy them at a store, because they have unique serial numbers that are logged into their system, such as what would be on a vehicle. Meaning, if one of their employees decides to take off with a few to "sell on the side", guess what? they're being tracked, just like a stolen car. Taking a bootleg handbag to the LV store and asking them to look up the serial number is like calling the police on yourself.

I love a great deal just like anyone else, but sometimes you have to draw the line. Save up the extra bucks to walk into the real store and buy one, and save yourself the trouble with these "bootleggers". And by all means, never, and I mean NEVER purchase an expensive designer handbag from Ebay or any other site like that. You can find some online dealers that specialize in off season bags, but be sure to check them out THOROUGHLY to make sure that they are an authorized dealer before handing over your money. But the easiest way to make sure you don't get ripped off is to simply save the money to get the bag you want, and go to the LV store and buy it directly.
