Kroger Pharmacist named Jeff at 921 W. Holmes Road, Lansing, Michigan. Refused to fill blood pressure medication because it came from a low income clinic with 'unsavory' clients, ie, black, poor clients. Lansing Michigan

Re: Jeff, the Pharmacist.

On July 18, 2014, at 11am, I was informed over the phone that a pharmacist by the name of Jeff did not want to fill my prescriptions. The excuses were numerous, but not valid reasons for refusing to fill the three prescriptions presented. The doctor is one of good standing in the community. The physician's assistant is an intelligent woman who knew what she was doing and had carefully reviewed by medical history over the last two years. The prescriptions are not a threat to my health as implied by Jeff, the pharmacist. The lack of blood pressure medication in fact, is a threat to my health, and his refusal to fill even that prescription is highly questionable and is being presented for review to Kroger.

Jeff, the pharmacist, has allowed me to retrieve my prescriptions, rather than “dispose of them”. This is because Jeff doesn't like the FREE clinic doctor. So to avoid filling the prescription, he first claimed the phone was 'no good' (I called the line, it worked fine), and that my prescriptions were forgeries (who in their right mind gives FAKE non-opiate and over the counter prescriptions?).  Then he claimed my PA (Physician's Assistant) was 'not listed' - his way of claiming she isn't licensed!  That was absurd so by this point I knew he was just being offensive.  Jeff said he wasn't going to fill them, and he would save me the trouble and throw them out as "no one would fill them" as he talked to "four other pharmacies".  By this point, I wondered if he had a problem he needed to work on.  I told him he could not throw them out, I would pick them up.  When I came to get them, I found he wrote in red ink making the prescriptions look suspicious.

Krogers may feel free to call any and all police forces to review my prescriptions. They are legal, valid and necessary for my health, welfare and comfort. I have nothing to hide. However, Jeff should consult with his supervisor for any such further insults he wishes to heap on Kroger clients.

However, I am making copies of my prescriptions, I'm waiting for a ride to the emergency room as my blood pressure registered 185/111 this morning, so the arm problem is probably not a good sign...

I promise you Jeff, I will find a lawyer, a Kroger representative, or sue in small claims for the emergency room visit for blood pressure treatment.  There is something seriously wrong with this Kroger Pharmacist.  He is a menace to this neighborhood.  Most of the people in this area are poor, so good luck in shutting down the free clinic!

You have also not answered another question.  What did the doctor say when you talked to them?  After all you admit you called the number and it worked.  So when you called and said that this pharmacist was giving you a hard time what did the doctor do?

Oh and I am curious with someone who has to call for a ride 24 hours in advance, when you were "waiting" for your ride to the ER...how come they couldn't take you to a different pharmacy instead of the ER?

Something is still very fishy here. You say you have to get a ride? Well the ride you took to the ED you could easily have taken to another pharmacy and get your prescription filled. Should be easy right since there was nothing wrong with it right? Amazing that people complain in one breath they have no money for a ride but will hire a lawyer in an instant. Better be careful pharmacist Jeff doesn't see this and sue YOU for slander.

Ken

Colorado,

So, what's the reason for ignoring it THIS time?

Guess it isn't really an "instant messaging" problem,is it?

Don't forget the question...WHY DIDN'T YOU TAKE YOUR PRESCRIPTION TO ANOTHER PHARMACY?

How can I respond to your rebuttal before I see it?

Apparently you think this is instant messaging, and you can't wait for an answer.  So you are insulting me claiming I 'ignored the response."  What a maroon.

Ken

Colorado,

I would STILL like to know why you didn't go to another pharmacy?

Why are you avoiding answering this question?

"Jeff, the pharmacist, has allowed me to retrieve my prescriptions, rather than “dispose of them”.

Seems like you had your prescriptions back and did nothing with them..right?

Transportation issues.

The assumption here is that I have a car, have family in the area, etc.  I pay for every ride I take.  And obviously, in spite of the red ink all over the prescriptions, I will be submitting it to another pharmacy.   Affordable rides for the disabled is available all week, 24 hours advance notice, at 3 dollars a pop, each way.  Yes, that means I have to wait till monday.

Yet the pharmacist VERIFIED the DEA number?

Sorry but you missed all the points.  The pharmacist was not making sense on the phone.  I knew the PA was able to write the scripts to be filled under TWO situations, her number and the doctors number.  You are reading into this.  And yes, I am pursuing it.

Ken

Colorado,

Their are PA's and PA-C's. The PA-C's are certified by undergoing regular training and CAN write scrips on their own.

The PA's cannot.  The pharmacy ONLY makes money when they fill prescriptions...not when they don't. YOU are speculating on the reaons they didn't fill yours and almost certainly leaving out some of the "story"  Gotta love drama queens, such as yourself. Pharamacies have very specific, strict legal guidelines to follow or could be fined and license revoked.  YOU jst aren't worth the risk.

"I promise you Jeff, I will find a lawyer, a Kroger representative, or sue in small claims for the emergency room visit for blood pressure treatment."

Good luck with that.  Let us know the venue, docket number and date of this pending lawsuit.  What could possibily go wrong?  The previous question as to why you didn't go to another pharmacy remains unanswered by you.  What's the story on that?  Do you even know?  What a "Maroon."

Nope, I don't work for Kroger.

Is there a reason you just didn't simply take it to another pharmacy? Is that idea too obvious?

So when you called the Clinic and told them you were having this issue what did they say?
