Complaint Review: Kwik Kar

My wife took our 4 month old van into the Kwik Kar on S. Carrier Pkwy in Grand Prairie, TX to have a standard lube and oil change. After they changed the oil, she drove home and parked the van.

When I looked under the van the next day, I noticed numerous fresh oil drops. I assumed that either they were sloppy when they put oil in or the filter was not tight. I checked the next day after she drove it and there were again fresh oil drops.

I told her to take it back to Kwik Kar to have the filter tightened and they told her that it was normal to leak after the oil was changed. They were unwilling to even take 2 minutes to tighten the filter.

When I returned home from work I reached under the vehicle as far as I could and was barely able to get my hand on the filter, but I was still able to get 2 more turns on the filter. The leaks stopped.

The one time that I went in there their employees had a bad attitude, barely spoke and seemed only interested in doing the minimal work necessary.
