Complaint Review: Kwik Kar Lube And Tune

I came to Texas in Nov 2004, prior to leaving Southern CA I had all the fluids changed, rear end gear oil changed, and the manual transmission serviced. I asked Kwik Kar to fix my speedometer and change my oil. They called and said my Serpentine belt (BIG fan belt) needed changing. I agreed to the work. They called to say my power steering fluid needed changing. I had just had this done before I drove to Texas, but I said OK as I'm not a mechanic.

When I went in to pick up the truck the owner presented me with a $435 bill. I told him I never asked for a transmission service, so he offered to knock off $25 of the $80 diagnostic test I never asked for either. Of course you have to pay him to get your truck back. Glad to see a place like this consumers can post to. As soon as I see this post, I'm printing a copy of it, taking one to him, and circulating it to my neighbors as well.

This is a small town. I think the impact will be felt
