Kwik Kar Visited for oil change....damaged air filter cover resulting in activation of check engine light Edmond Oklahoma
Visited Kwik Kar for oil change. Technician presented cabin filter and engine air filter for replacement. I elected to have them replace engine air filter. Requested they brush off and clean cabin filter and not replace. Prior to OKC city limits Malfunction indicator light lit up, and as return urgent I continued 5hr tip home. Upon investigation,the OBD check indicated a PO171 bank 1 system too lean. Checked engine air filter replacement work and found they had broke tab off engine air filter cover so the housing would not close securely. This needed to be replaced. They also did not clean off the cabin air filter and put it back in dirty. The cabin fan started making a whirring sound and air flow was minimal. I remove the cabin air filter cleaned it off, vacuumed out, and air flow and noisce problems were resolved. Cost $ 150 to fix damege resulting from visit. I have no provlem with Kwik Kar taking 45 minute to do a 10 minute job, but if Kwik Kar's Oil change includes air filter checks please do no harm.
