Purchased the ATSC-110 card from Newegg which had a $30 rebate (from the manufacturer Kworld) on Nov. 13, 2005--rebate also required the item be purchased at Newegg. After not receiving any response, I e-mailed Kworld. A "Jason Lin" replied saying I had sent the incorrect barcode. I called Kworld in Irvine, CA and spoke to Jason Lin (and Mei Chen on a separate occasion). I explained to Jason/Mei that the barcode I submitted was the only barcode printed on the box; he would not budge and kept insisting it was the wrong barcode. I provided a photograph of another box with the same barcode. They had boxes at their office and could have easily verified this. And still, the only thing they would keep repeating "Wrong barcode." Whatever "other" barcode sticker that was missing from my box is clearly Kworld's failure. Their rebate form only stated "Original UPC barcode cut from retail box" with no mention of what numbers should be in the barcode, as such, I am in full compliance with the rebate requirements. It was quite obvious Jason Lin and Mei Chen had absolutely no idea of what "customer service" meant nor comprehension at any acceptable level.

Searching the internet revealed a pattern of Kworld's deception. All rebates are handled directly by Kworld. Typical Kworld rebate scamming scenario: they'll sit on the rebate until individual contacts them, then they may pay, ignore individual, or make some ridiculous excuse why the rebate has been voided with no possibilities of resubmission. Majority seems to go unpaid, that's how they make their money.
