Max Worthington and the LA Comedy Awards is a complete lie and misrepresentation. It is not an "awards" show. There is no governing body who "chooses" the award. The "winners" buy those slots.

If comedians want to be nominated for a category, Max asks for $150. He says that amount helps to pay for their marketing. But, all they get is a Facebook mention and a piece of paper that says they've been nominated. He lets his nominees perform, but limits them if he thinks they can't bring an audience.

If those nominees want to win, Max asks for between $1,000 and $5,000. In turn they get a plaque that says they've won and a mention on the LA Comedy Awards Facebook page.

The LA Comedy Awards offer Celebrity Achievement awards and Mega Star awards to comedians that Max solely chooses based on his own perceived value - like David Spade, Mel Gibson, Jay Leno and Rick Overton. These big name comedians pay for nothing. It's the hard working, struggling comedians who pay for this whole scam. Max just uses these big name comedians to draw in an audience and create this fake image that this is some great awards show.

For any amount that has been paid, comedians should align their expectations. Expect to be part of a lie, expect to be taken advantage of, expect to get very little out of this, and expect Max Worthington to ask for more money.

Max Worthington and the LA Comedy Awards takes advantage of the poor comedians by taking their money and making false promises, and Max takes advantage of the famous comedians by connecting the LA Comedy Awards to their names even though they have nothing to do with the LA Comedy Awards.

Hi,

I'm Robert Burton. Actor, Voice Actor, and Comedian.  I find most everything in this report to be not true. There are marketing fees associated with almost any awards show - ever hear of the  Academy Awards, anyone? This show is no different in that aspect.

You don't simply "purchase" an award. You have to stand out enough in your field to be noticed in the first place. I was able to take my 2 nominations for "Most Hilarious Voice Over (and of course my talent) and use that to get a job as a VO Talent direct for NBC. I have done multiple commercials for NBC, to include 2 internationals that aired during the 2012 Summer Olympics. They are available to view on my IMDB profile.

I am still an up and coming entertainer, however I now make my living as an actor and voice actor full time. Thanks to the LA Comedy Awards, I now also get parts as a comedic actor because Producers see my accolades, training, and my resume and know that I can "bring it".

This report sounds like it was written by somebody who didn't seem to get the most out of their experience with the LA Comedy Awards. To that I can only say: "Look inside yourself and try to do better. Don't blame someone else. It's an opportunity, and everyone gets the same chance to do something great with it."

I know I did.

Thanks again Max!
