Complaint Review: L&S Auto LAWRENCE GOTREAUX

Larry had been working on my cars for years, brakes, rotors, starters, things that we easy I guess.  My daughter's car broke down, he gave us an estimatae and told us it was the head gasket and that it would be $900.00 to repair it. He said he would need half to buy the parts and the other half when the job was completed.  He said he would tow the car from the location that it broke down in and call me when it was finished.  Two weeks went by, the car was still sitting in the same place.  When I complained, he said the parts just arrived and he would be out the next day to move the car and start the repair.  He moved the car alright, but never told me where he moved it to.  We even went as far as to track him down by talking to people at the address on the receipt that he gave me for the upfront cash.  Turns out it was a storage location, not a garage, not even a home.  His number is now disconnected, I found out last week that the car had been towed over a month ago and has been incurring storage fees all this time.  He had moved the car to an empty lot and it was parked illegal.  He still has the key to the car, the only key I had... it will cost me more to file a suit against him than it's worth.  $168.00 just to file a claim and I don't have that kind of money.  It's just a shame that people take advantage of those of us tha work hard every day to raise our families.
